I just happened to be near a fire near the local mountains today and got a chance to get shots really close to the water dropping helicopter that came by the local dam where i was at...

The ducks don't seem to be all that impressed . I'd have thought that the chopper noise would disturb them (the rotor noise certainly disturbs me).

    Nice shots!

(Maybe it's duck hunting season and they're decoys?).

    Regards,

    Jim

You guys made my day, much more exciting than Pollo Asada at Traders. Dennis, I think you're ready to start shooting news.

Have you got a pizza oven in that retreat of a back yard of yours?

It was delic ... fresh saute veggies (onions, tomatoes, peppers, basil, rosemary, shrooms), pollo asada, and fresh pizza dough with Gouda, Mozzarella and Blue Cheese. I also cook the meat separate from the pizza so the pizza is greaseless. A backyard fresh salad and some Cupcake Chardonnay.

... actually yeah, plenty of everything.

I just had wood fired oven, homemade pizzas at my neighbors house. We had a green house grown salad, too. It was 11 degrees two nights ago, so greenhouses are a must.

LOL, nope. I toss the pizza into the BBQ. I use a stone, but you can just throw the pizza directly on the grill. I cook the meat and veggies separate on the side burner.

My old BBQ gave up the ghost over the weekend and this was the first meal with the new equipment. The new one has so much better and even heat dispersion than the old, made cooking the pizza a breeze.

    You need to try it.

mmmmhhhh wood! I just have a gas fed BBQ, but I often add a few branches of rosemary and sage into the BBQ for unique smokey flavoring. Been cooking my fish on a plank ... and a plank is a great way to go for additional flavoring. It was 80F yesterday, but it's starting to cool off again. I would love a greenhouse for the Orchids, right now they have to tough out the winters outside.
