This time of year is great in the mountains. The snow has a solid crust to it and the trails are empty. I wanted to head up to a high mountain lake, but the trailhead was quite a bit up a closed road. No problem with a fat bike.

The moon was amazing on the way up.

I knew the snow would not be rideable after a certain point, so I strapped on the snowshoes.

But while it lasted it was perfect.

Not a lot of snow at all :)

I locked the bike up and headed out on snowshoes.

Well I had such a blast on Wednesday I went out again after work, to a different lake this time. I figured why not have dinner with a view?

My wife's uncle was from Colorado, he always called it God's country. I think he was right.

The conditions are still perfect so I decided to take one last little adventure to that area before it gets too soft.

Looks like you hit it at the right time. That is a great place to return to again and again. All nice pix but I really like the last image with pond reflection of Pawnee, Toll, and Audubon. It looks quiet and peaceful.
