If you set out to document a depressing looking city, your were successful. Even after reading your blog and seeing the additional pictures, I'm not seeing the "pretty". But good photography of a place not high on my list to visit.

Photos are excellent, while not very contrasty (personal opinion), I like the feel of the photos.

But I have to agree... it seems like the city is a bit depressing. Most photos depict a rather decaying city.

I've been in Belgrade 6 years ago, it's a pleasant city with a new sector for the "modern' visitors and a nice old one for the "romantic" ones. There's always the river Sava with boat-restaurants where someone can take a walk and enjoy the evening.

I would really visit Belgrade happily one more time

To me, that is how most of Europe looks away from the tourist areas, at least in the cities. I don't know how to explain it, other than everyone, including the government, have other things to do.

Great shots, and I'm jealous of your lenses! As to what Fsuscot said, I think you could find that in most big cities anywhere. You get away from downtown and touristy areas you can find sections of run down areas. Hell even the small town that I live in there are certain parts of town that are just run down and can look depressing.
