My wife and I spent a weekend recently in Vermont, starting out in Burlington and finishing up the second day in Shelburne with some quick side trips to surrounding towns.

All images made using the Olympus EM-1.2 and Zuiko 12-40 2.8 Pro lens.

I'll post the images in chronological order, starting in Burlington.

This one caught my eye due to the "R's" on the balconies since it's the initial of my first name.

This is Church St., the main downtown shopping district and is closed to traffic. Happened to be a Jazz festival going on which was a surprise.

Vermonts famous kettle corn. Didn't try it so I have no idea how famous it is.

We had dinner at the Farmhouse Tap & Grill which was outstanding. When I came out of the restaurant directly across the street the neon sign of this place caught my eye. Later on in our hotel room, Facebook knew where I was and sent me dining recommendations and this place was highly rated. Will have to try it next time.

After dinner we took a ride to Jeffersonville. A friend of mine told me about some defunct farm silos that an artist created some amazing art on. Amazing indeed!

These silos happen to be directly across the road from the Smugglers Notch Distillery, they make some amazing award winning vodka there among other spirits.

From Jeffersonville we retired back to our hotel in Burlington for the night and the next day on to Shelburne which was the main reason for our trip to the area and the highlight of it as well. But on the way we stopped in Cambridge to visit the Boyden Valley Winery and I'm very glad we did. We were treated to a tasting, tour and a cheese board afterwards outside on their patio.

Our outdoor snacks after the wine tasting and tour. The wine we had here was our favorite of the tasting and is called "Cow Tipper". I usually go for red wine but this was too delicious to pass up.

From the winery it was on to Shelburne where we had a "gift" one night stay from a friend at the Shelburne House which sits on the shore of Lake Champlain and is part of the 1,400 acre Shelburne Farms.

This is the front of the Inn as you approach it from the road in.

The first thing we did after checking in was explore the Formal Gardens which are a part of the back yard and looked out on to the lake with a view of New York's Adirondack Mountains.

One of several sitting rooms, this one leading to the bar and beyond that to the left into the dining room.

The dining room where we would later have a fabulous meal.

The next set of pictures are from our early Sunday morning walk before breakfast. There are miles of walking trails on the farm. We only had time to cover about 2 of them.

There are several different barns on the farm, this one is the carriage barn. (yes, this is what's called a barn on this farm)

These are the special swiss brown cows they imported which we were told produce the ideal ratio of fat to protein for making their renowned cheddar cheese.

And to end our evening after dinner we were treated to a beautiful sunset. Good thing I brought my tripod! And yes I did edit out some lens flare here.

All I can say about this place is that I felt like I was living a fairy tale. It was very difficult to get back in the car for a 4.5 hr. ride back to CT. My wife is making plans for another visit in the fall.
