    A feature I'd like to see (assuming that it doesn't exist yet) is the option to control digital zoom via the focus ring.

    What do you think?

    Hate digital zoom, never use it. You can crop in-camera after the fact anyway, so what's the point?

    I was referring to digital zoom in the sense of precisely setting the intended framing. So basically, "live cropping" is what I'm looking for.

    I agree that digital zoom in the sense of interpolating is pretty useless.

    I do, however, think that "live cropping" has its benefits:

    - the automatic exposure could be set specifically for the cropped portion;
    - people not used to primes (and not used to "zooming with your feet") would have an easier time setting the intended framing;
    - might actually be more fun than cropping afterwards.
