The remains of a Leaf-Cutter Bee at one particular place.

And death comes to us all. Looking like it died a natural death in the night, no sign of fungus or other bodily damage. Over a week or so it deteriorated noticeably, Two wings, then one, then none but the shell remaining intact and even used as a roost for another Nomadic bee.

And then I found another in the same place, a branch a few inches away, early on a sunny morning. Hmmm?

    Great macro shots...equipment recommendations?

    Mark,

Really impressed with your blog and the pics from this thread.
Would you mind telling me what lens you are using for these, and also camera body? Are you using extension tubes, reversed lenses, etc.?

Really want to do macro with m 4/3.

    Thanks
    Jet

G'day Jet. I use the Pany FZ50 and G1, a few of each plus various lenses/achromat combinations. It's great that no one produces the same results. You will find the rundown on what and how I do here : Macro Illustrated « Nature's Place It's in my sig anyway. :)

It's the light that really matters though, gear is secondary.

Yes, but I never advertise a brand - unless they want to pay me. :)

Various achromats work best under different conditions, it's the quality that counts = money usually.
