Work finally settled down a bit and I was able to get out with the family and my new lens!

This was a stunning and emotionally impactful piece made of thousands of dog tags from fallen soldiers.

    That first image is fantastical!
The dog tag scale mail is powerful art from both the orig creator and you/the museums lighting guy. Hehehe :D

Very nice set. Thoughtful and creative. The little girl with "Frank" is perfect.

Lovely set of photos. I really love that first one though, the light, processing, everything.

    Regards, Paul.

Thanks! That was her giving me the stink eye - "not another photo dad". I just managed to make lemonade out of that lemon :) I was really happy how it turned out even though it started as an accident.

Thanks! I think it works very well for portraits. I never ran around just shooting portraits, and therefore rarely used my 45s and ended up selling them. This is a very adequate replacement for my limited needs.

Here's another one from the day..

It's pretty usable with good lighting / proper exposure. As a general rule though, I keep the auto upper limit at 3200 and only go above by choice on an as needed basis.
