I suspect one of the biggest reasons people suffer fro blurred photographs is because of the poor design of many of today's cameras forcing people to shoot with the camera held out in front of them using the back screen for composition and thus the over reliance an image stabalization. Many of today's cameras don't even have a view finder to use if you wanted.

Holding a camera at arms length with anything other than a wide angle lens is asking for trouble. Even more so if you try to use a long lens Image stabalization or not it's just a recepie for disaster.

Use a camera with a view finder and hold it the way it should be held and you sharpness rate will go up exponentionally.
