First walkabout and trial. All images taken wide open at f/1.2. Lots of character. OK central sharpness wide open. Can be a bit tricky to focus (even using magnified view) as the focus ring has a pretty short throw. Overall, though, I like it a lot for some applications.

Some more. Definitely a lens to use for its "character" more than any other attribute.

I have this lens for my fuji. At f8 mine is sharp across the frame. I have used it for many landscape shots. Have you tried stopping yours down?

Sorry for the late reply. I have used it on occasion at f/5.6. While its character remains and sharpness improves greatly, when I'm shooting at that aperture, I'm often looking for edge to edge crispness, and tend to use my other primes.

Another shot wide open (ND8 filter required to bring shutter speed down to 1/5000). There are circumstances under which I really like the rendering of this lens.

Currently my go to walk around lens. Tiny compared to my Vivitar 35mm f/1.9 lens from the 1970s.

Both wide open at f/1.2
