Had the unbelievable pleasure of attending a Neil Young concert.. most of it is 6400 ISO wide open with people jumping up and down next to me. Fantastic lens...
Looking at Neil is making me feel old! I saw the 1980 (?) Rust Never Sleeps concert. Nicely done shots of an icon.
Thanks everyone! They were all shot in Melbourne two weeks ago. The problem with Neil is he jumps around a lot, i.e needed the shutter speed (many shots were not sharp!) Having grown up with pushed Tri-X I actually don't mind the way the E-M5 handles the noise, obviously 3200 or 1600 would have been preferred. The 75mm is so great wide open which helps! Here are some more photos: http://sdrv.ms/12XcIUp This one was with house light on (640 ISO, 1/200, f/1:8) {} Cheers, sten
That is typical of him. Still rockin at this age. Nice shots btw, the first one shows how the 75 rocks.
I think there is a lot to say for leaving at the top of your game. I am with you Big John at the ol' fart end of the bar. -G-
The thing is though he rocked the sh*t out of anybody I have ever heard before (including himself!), his 30 year old songs were rendered more raw and up-front than ever before. He has not stopped, he has continued to develop...Best concert ever, and I (just like you) have seen a few!
