I need Olympus... :-/
There are two Olympus now with the EM1.2 using a 2.5mm mini-stereo plug (aka sub-mini) for remote release. :D
Benefit is now you can have the USB port connected to a computer *and* still connect your remote release. (so I believe, I haven't tried it yet)

Here's the official Olympus RM-CB2 release FWIW: Remote Cable Release (RM-CB2) | Olympus

Noting seems to be working with us except the very simplistic RM-CB2. :-(

These cameras share a common connector:

Canon: Digital Rebel (300D), XT (350D), XTi (400D), XSi (450D), T1i (500D), T2i (550D), T3 (1100D), T3i (600D), T4i (650D), T5 (1200D), T5i (700D), T6i (750D), T6s (760D), SL1 (100D) and XS (1000D), 60D, 60Da & 70D; PowerShot G10, G11, G12, G15, G16, G1 X & G1 X Mark II, and SX60 HS
Contax: N/645
Hasselblad: H series
Olympus: OM-D E-M1 Mark II
Pentax: K100D, K110D, K200D, K10D, K20D, istDS, istDS2, istDL2, istDL, istD, K-5, K-5 II, K-5 lIs, K-30, K-7, K-3, K-50, and K-500
Samsung: GX-1S, GX-1L, GX-10, GX-20, NX-10, and NX-100
Sigma: SD1

Find a shutter release that works with the above and it should work with the Olympus: OM-D E-M1 Mark II

This should work for $27.98 - Amazon.com: pixel TW-283/E3 LCD Wireless Shutter Release Timer Remote Control for Canon EOS 1300D, 1200D,1100D,1000D,760D,750D,700D,650D: Electronics

or for $79.50 - Vello Wireless ShutterBoss II Remote Switch RCW-II-C1 B&H Photo

So if I got this release that worked for the Canon 70D (which I also own) it would work for both? :)

Does the 70D use a 2.5mm stereo plug for the remote release?

If so then yes, it should work for both.

Just a note on the TW283 from some limited testing with my EM1.2 -- The TW283 can function in wired or wireless mode, i.e. you can plug the remote release directly into the camera or you can plug the radio receiver portion into the camera and operate it wirelessly (2.4GHz). However, to work properly in direct-wire mode the TW283 *must* have batteries. Without batteries, when you plug it in the camera senses a half-press all the time and locks you out of any menu or SCP functions. Button still works for full-release, then the camera drops back to half-press. I was a little disappointed to learn this. If you need a no-batteries solution as well this won't serve and you'll need to pick up one of the myriad $6-10 options.
