Pan and crop are my dolly and other tricks shots. I currently use vegas16PRO. Saw a Youtube on using the 6K photo to produce 6K video clips (for Pan and crop in 4K final cuts). Wow. The only trick is that you have to set 6K video for Start/Stop and you can only do 30 FPS.

Shot some cat videos and then recoded the 6K stuff to an intermediate codec using handbreak. But much to my surprise VP16 process the h265 file right out of the camera. Have been using Pan and Crop in going from 4K to 1080P but not in 4K for final cut. Now I can do that. 6K has about 2.27 times the resolution of 4K and that will be useful for my wildlife stuff and other "Kens Burns" Stuff.

How do you like Vegas since it's not under Sony anymore (since version #15 I think?) ? And why would you prefer Vegas instead of the Premiere? (I use Vegas but I want to hear your point of view).

Have used it for a long time and it is very intuitive and has lots of power. The Stabilizer and color grading in 17 bring it up to the top of the pile IMHO. I also use a DAW called Samplitude from Magix and it is a power house.

I will take a look at it. Personnaly the #1 disadvantage of Vegas compared to others is the lack of animated transitions and stuff like "lower thirds" text animation.
