It's smaller and lighter than I expected, performs well and is a nice piece of kit.

I've bought it purely for its macro capability, I have the 35-100 f2.8 for general shooting.

I have played with it a bit today but need to experiment with lighting, composition and dof more to understand how to get the best macro images but look forward to learning. I've used the Oly 50mm f2 macro so familiar with shooting macro but its an art in itself and takes a lot of practice and imagination to get really good shots.

    Anyway here's one from today....

Yeah mine got mine Thursday. Loving the dof. I posted a few that I took on the 60mm image thread. Played around with my fl300r flashes. They are nice and small.

I got mine today. I agree, it's a really nice lens. Not much is blooming yet, so no flowers to show yet. :frown:

Everyone buying the 60mm macro all of a sudden? Interesting. It is a splendid lens, though. I love macro.

yeah, it's a great lens. It's about a third of the size and weight of the Nikon 105mm VR micro which I had before, which means that I actually don't mind having it with me all the time :)

Macro is a fantastic way to shoot. You don't have to go anywhere fancy... the weather doesn't have to be great... and you can still end up with great shots...

    Congrats on your purchases :)

I'm tempted to pick one up for close up computer part shots. Any chance you can take a sample that'll show the chip markings, maybe a quick pan with video or something?

Here's two quick one's. The capacitor is a sub-mini, the LM 555 timer is about 1cm long. Both are full size, no cropping.

    Lucky. What do you do?

I have the PL45mm and while its a great lens the Oly has been tempting with the weathersealing and extra working distance.

Congrats and enjoy! It's such a nice lens ... and the last toy for me for a while. Had to replace my oven and have some electrical work done today.

I've had one for a week and i was mostly impressed with its portrait capabilities. F2.8 had its disadvantages but a great lens indeed.

If money was not tight right now, i'd definitely be all over the current deal.
