This Challenge is difficult enough for me that I decided to skip it. Yet it is addictive enough that I had to submit something. I edited raw file in DxO PL4 (light levels, contrast, vibrance, etc.) then tweaked in Elements (mainly expanded sky and compressed foreground, leaving mountains undistorted).

All accomplished in Adobe Camera Raw. Trying to keep things simple.

I wanted some more snow...

Here is my "more snow" version, a generous dusting, in B&W:

Well, the contest has come to a merciful close. I am not quite sure why I chose this photo but you all did great job.
I spent more than a few years back in the day working in color labs as a custom printer and color corrector so the correct color is important to me.
The post processing challenge is a fun way to keep skills up or learn new ways to do things.
The added animals from Lyle and Robert were great! The Roos of the Rockies would be a major international attraction.
This photo looked better with good sharpening so that the flowers showed up well.
Thanks to all of you who took the time to enter.

The winner is BosseBe #2 nice color and sharpness.
1st runner up is Whidbey LVR - a very nice job with the elk import.
2nd runner up is rpatodia #2, very nice

Entries by Hendrick, Zapp DJR and Robert Davidson were also in the running.
Over to you Bosse Be!
I wanted to show you the elk seen from the visitor center I saw that day with a telephoto view.
