This is proving a bit difficult for me, as the new lappy doesn't have a calibrated screen and the colour tones are muted, the two shots below are a sooc jpeg and the split tone shot which may well look oversaturated on a calibrated monitor.

I'm at my holiday place and the lappy is all I have. Both shots taken this morning when I went for a cycle ride, split toning processed with Affinity Photo.

If you have a calibrator you should be able to calibrate your laptop also.

Last week's catch-up. Went down to Sterling State Park on Lake Erie.

Saw some seagulls:

And a whole field full of Monarchs. There must've been a couple of hundred. It was pretty windy so they weren't opening their wings much.

I left fairly satisfied, but after a good walk was a bit unhappy that all I saw were birds and insects. No snakes, deer, no reptiles, nothing. I was sitting in my truck in the parking lot and saw some movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked up and found this guy ready to help out. I'm fairly certain he read my earlier post.

And now for this week. The first was left in color, with green and magenta for the split tones.

This was converted to monotone and added red and yellow.

I'm noticing as I sit here typing on my laptop that the colors don't show up as well as on my desktop.

I don’t shoot raw so I am going to pass on this week’s assignment. I don’t use Lightroom and Affinity doesn’t look like it does split tone other than Raw

(processed in RawTherapee, which is free and can handle JPEGs too)

Here's the original SOOC (from Oly Viewer) plus the crop:

A pretty lame placeholder in case I don't manage to get into the city (I spend most of my days avoiding crowds and buildings). More of a street shot than an architectural one, but I couldn't resist both the woman and building shielding their glasses from the sun.

Yeah; right? But YOU decided on the assignment. First split-toned things I've done. Not gonna be a fave. But good to try new things; right?
I found it fascinating. I never even knew it existed until @Mountain assigned it. It think used correctly it could be huge. I started looking though old photos to play around. It doesn't go with everything for sure, some were better without, some were 'meh', and some were an improvement, at least IMO.

This is from earlier in the summer. I never could get the look I wanted on the original. I posted these over in the processing forum. They are identical save the split toning.
