Interesting they're knocking $50 off the 17/1.8 right before the E-P5 is to be released ... and rumored to include this lens as part of a package.

I'm tired of backing up with my sigma 30mm for indoor shots, so I bought the 17mm 1.8 for the $50 off. Biggest discount I've seen yet. In a year, hopefully the 17mm will be $100 less but I can't wait that long.

I picked one up too. I'd previously bought one at full price, and I returned it because I didn't feel it was *that* much better than the 17/2.8 (for my use). But I miss the extra light, and I expect that $450 price to be the best we'll see for quite a while.

Lenses don't seem to be discounted all that much. The 45/1.8 is still full price (except for this sale) unless you buy from overseas via Ebay. I don't mind doing that with inexpensive lenses, but $400-500 is a bit too much for that AFAIC.

Look at 20mm, still resell for $300 after 4 years into the market when new one is only $50 more, I don't think 17mm 1.8 would drop that low
