Voting time, always the most difficult part of hosting these competitions.
@rpatodia: reds are way too saturated
@frankmulder: I think You used some kind of cartoon filter....Topaz Simplify?
@BosseBe: #1 acceptable colors, no perspective corrections; #2 too dark for my taste.
@Dinobe: nice overall rendition, but it seems one of Your manipulations introduced a general "haziness", lack of overall sharpness
@RichardC: what happened to the guy on the left? He shrunk quite a bit.
@Robert Davidson: nice, but You lost the cross on the tower.
@WhidbeyLVR: impressive amount of work, congrats,
@Walter: #1 nice, #2 same problems with the man on the left as RichardC

Final results:
Winner is Lyle!
First runner up Walter
Second runner up (nearly a tie with Walter) Bo.

Thank You all for Your efforts and over to Lyle for the next competition.

PS this competition led to a problem that I cannot explain; I posted it on the forum here.

Thanks @Zeus1 for my favourite position. My wow showed that I found Lyle's PP better than mine.
As to my entry #2 ... like Richard I thought that man is much too tall. ;)

Yes, I have noticed it myself, I haven't figured out what DT modules caused it, but I'm sometimes confronted with this issue in DT.
FWIW, I was never able to get a lower mid-tone contrast that I liked using the version of filmic in the 3.0 releases (aka filmic v3)... it enforces more linearity over more of the "S-curve" than the previous version. I ended up making an additional RGB curve preset to use along with it, but was never really happy about having to do that. The good news is that the version in the just-released darktable 3.2 improves this and some other things... check it out! :D
