Kenko Tokina 400mm lens for Micro Four Thirds and Sony NEX hits Japan tomorrow -- Engadget
That looks dreadful to use! Much cheaper to buy an existing version and $20 adapter...for the same performance.
Its not for me, but I'm glad to see another new M43 lens. We need a 400 2.8
I always liked a mirror lens for backpacking and day hiking. I would jump on a 400-500 mirror that was made for m43 (much smaller) and not just a remounted larger format lens.
This isn't it.
Interestingly they are also releasing a 300mm mirror that looks much better.
43 Rumors | Blog | New Kenko-Tokina 300mm for Micro Four Thirds. Also Kowa will show five new lenses!
The 300 might be useable. In the real world, the uses for an 800mm eq lens are very limited. A 250mm f5.6 is something I'd like to see.
Kowa lenses : KOWA
Has anyone tried any Kowa lenses before? Is it manual lens? I've just heard this brand
Kowa is a Japanese lens maker. They made medium format slr, the Kowa Six, and a few lenses. Later the Kowa 66 had interchangeable backs. The lenses were quite good. The system used lens shutters rather than a focal plane shutter. They made one attempt at a 36mm slr, but it was unsuccessful.
Last I know they were making industrial lenses, which seems to still be the case.
um, is it a manual lens? I have a feeling that this is a manual lens..
Yes, all manual c-mount requiring an adapter.
KOWA: 4/3" Megapixel (LM12XC, LM16XC, LM25XC, LM35XC, LM50XC)
Kowa are well regarded for their spotting telescopes.
