Travelled to Ha Noi last week.
Didn't really have it in me to do any tourist stuff, but took to the streets with the GX7, Samyang fisheye, 20mm and 58mm Voigtlander.
It's a frantic place with few areas that offer any respite from continual scooter traffic and car horns.

Vietnam is modernising at speed, so if you're tempted to go there, do it quickly.

Thanks for sharing.

I left Vietnam when I was 8 years old. When I return to visit during my college years, it was a completely different place than the one I remembered as a child. And when my wife visited a few years back, it's way for advanced than I'd ever imagined.

I must say, this tiny country is modernizing at lightning speed.

HaViet,

Even coming from Hong Kong I was amazed at the level of activity and noise in Ha Noi. HK feels a bit quiet now. :frown:

Thought I'd add in three more. Despite the weather Hanoi was great fun.

I feel that this is the case in a lot of countries. The best time to travel is now, not 1, 5, or 10 years from now.
I agree .. and I wish I could afford to do so or even find some sort of job that would send me to any part of Asia for a while, but I can't :frown: .
I am accepting help tho if anyone wants to send offers

Right now I can barely afford to go to the Jersey shore for a weekend. lol

really nice photos, I've been to Vietnam twice over the last two years, and hope to go again in the next year. I've never been to Hanoi, most of my relatives are in/around the Saigon area. If you venture in the outskirts more, then modernism fades away to simpler living that is very eye-opening and beautiful.

Good chance I will be in Saigon in June for a few days. Unlikely that I will escape in to the countryside though, sadly. Will post more pictures if that trip happens.
