I am waiting delivery of a Pentax 100mm Macro lens which was manufactured pre-digital and is rated as 1:2 magnification. When used on my GH2 with a 2x crop factor will this result in re-rating the lens as 1:1 magnification?

When talking about Macro lenses, 'magnification' refers to the physical size of the image projected on the sensor. If the projection is 'life-size' (eg. if a 1cm ant covers 1cm of the sensor), then it's 1:1 - it doesn't matter how big the sensor is; a bigger sensor just means there'll be more space around the ant...

So, the Pentax 100mm will still be a 1:2 macro - just that on film you'll get more 1:2 than you will on Micro Four Thirds...

The lens remains a 1:2 lens. So a 4/3 lens like the 50 mm 2.0 1:2 will get you the same magnification.

Having said that, Using a 100mm 1:2 lens on a M43, you can expect similar results from using a 200 1:1 lens on a full frame camera.
