Awesome lens, the best of the 4-3rds lenses for m43. I love mine.

I put this lens on a friend's G5 and it actually focused like a m4/3 lens. No searching at all. It hunts a little on my EM5.

    That confirms my feeling too.

14-54 II on my E-PM2: acceptable, but slow. (Should be similar to OM-D)
14-54 II on my G5: acceptable, and significantly faster.

Impressive that Panny AF speed with adapted 4/3 lenses is better than Oly cameras.

Stop it! You're gonna make me keep it! Seriously, I'm getting a Fuji xe-1 w/18-55 today to try. I have a new G5 on it's way, also. Right now I have the EM5. Somethings gotta give. I have a bid on a 12-35 in right now that is slightly damaged @ $650 max. I really want the 12mm FOV. So, G5 and 12-35 = $1050. Fuji = 1059 used VG ( amazon). EM5 for my nikon 180, minolta 50, oly 75mm. But G5 and 14-54 + oly 11-22 = $1000, but extra lens. I'm thinking a frontal lobotomy is the solution.

So I'll help you out here. You can't possibly keep the 14-54 because it is big(ger), heavy(er), slow(er) to focus, and has no OIS (compared with 12-35).

Other than that, it's the perfect do almost everything zoom.

You need NEW GEAR to go with your perfect combo of G5, E-M5 and X-E1!

Actually it's a much sharper lens an the 12-35, And if your firmware is up to date the focus is quite speedy.
