Hi,

i read a lot about the kit lenses, what do you think that is superior?

Thanks for your report.

I'm evaluating if buy the Lumix GX80 and the kit lens seem an added value.

My 14-42IIR (kit with my PM1) was slightly better IQ wise than my 12-32 (kit with my GX80), but there was very little in it.

I kept the 12-32 because of it's size and the extra 2mm focal length at the wide end.

When I got the Leica 12-60 it made both redundant and both cheaper lenses are now gone.

Also consider the Lumix 12-60, better than both the cheaper options and not that much more expensive when split from a kit.

All true, but keep in mind the P12-60 is huge compared to the other two (particularly when it trombones), but the focal range is indeed very versatile.

So the old adage: size, cost, range...pick two.

If you're only getting one lens and cost is a factor, the Panasonic 12-60 f/3.5-5.6 is an excellent choice. It compares very favorably with it's Leica cousin of the same focal length at a lot lower cost.
