I have the 14-42EZ and was thinking about getting the auto lens cap. One question though, if you get the lens cap, then want to use a filter, do you still have to take the auto lens cap off or can you put a filter on top of it?

The cap needs to be removed before you can use a filter.

Also if you put a filter on the lens and then the cap on top of the filter, the cap will stay open all the time, which makes it pointless.

I forgot about the issue with putting the filter on before the lens cap. The lens cap is mechanical in operation, it works well by itself and it is a fun little gadget. My wife likes when traveling. In hindsight, I think that it is a little expensive for what it is.
