Yeah, the question is always whether it's worth waiting for the 20% off sale. It would be a significant discount but the chances of landing one are fair at best. I have a 5% discount for taking their survey that's good through the 31st of December. That'll at least cover sales tax. Maybe I should just bite the bullet now.

Has anyone ever purchased a refurbed camera from the outlet? I have purchased a bunch of lenses, only one showing any signs of use (the 12-40 had scratches on the barrel, no biggie).

Cheers,
-Joe

I have purchased two bodies these past few years - an E-PL2 and an E-M1. The former had a tiny little micro-scratch on the very corner of its LCD screen, but they were otherwise like new.

I purchased an Olympus Stylus 1 from them and you'd never know that it wasn't new.

I've got an E-PM2 and E-PL5, both were refurbs from the outlet. As far as I can tell they were never used and there was no visible damage on them.

12-40 is back in stock as of 9:30am (GMT-8) Pacific Time. I just purchased one although I am currently using a Panasonic Body w/o IBIS. (Will have to switch to Olympus in the future!)

Occasional lurker here (first time poster). Bought this to pop on a OM-D E-M10 and a E-PL1 (rarely). Can't beat the price ($639 + tax). They also have black 45/1.8 lenses for $279, back in stock (as of 1PM EST).

Got a 12-40 ordered. I've been looking at a new body, that I probably don't really NEED, but the 12-40 will be really nice on my existing G5, and I can wait until something new comes along in the world of m4/3 bodies.. Thanks for the heads up!

Most of the lenses including macro 60mm, 75mm, 70-300mm, etc are available at the olympus refurbished store now.

Wow, 75 is already out of stock! Great deal, and it looks like they roll in every few days. Other lenses seem to be in stock (25/1.8, 45/1.8, 60/2.8, etc.), for now!

My experience with the reconditioned site is positive so far. Ordered a 12-40 during the last batch, lens itself is great, but one of the hood latch switches was broken. They shipped out a new hood without any hesitation!

Is the 25MM F/1.8 a good deal at 319CAD? The new price is only 349, but the refurb says it comes with lens hood cover worth 46 bucks. Is that useful piece to have (sorry I am a beginner) or is it worth spending 30 more for new without the lens hood? I wish they had a 20% promotion or I would buy it no problem.

A hood offers some protection against bumping into things, but you can get a nice JJC hood for much less than $46.
