"Like" them on facebook, and you can pre-order for the above price. Depending on where you live you might have to pay sales tax, but it's still a lot cheaper than the $1299 asking price online.

Nice savings, still way out of my price range. Some lenses I will never own. :frown:

Do you have a link to this? I can't find this information anywhere.

EDIT: nevermind, figured it out. You have to Like the Panasonic facebook page, then go to the Fan Only Deals, then click on Shop the VIP Store to get a link to a special version of the store.

Man I could kick myself, I just ordered *last night* from DigitalRev figuring the street price wouldn't drop this much more

wow, not bad. I used up all my panasonic direct purchases I think. Does anyone know if it's a yearly thing or what?

$1039 for a lens that should cost $400 really doesn't get me excited.

I think it should cost $150, myself. Then I could buy one for each camera body.

Tried to get on their page, maybe I can't access that from the mobile version of FB..? Do they have a shipping date listed on there? Still unclear on when these are being released.

Just says "Delivery: after US release" on the page, didn't see a date anywhere yet.

No, but people who ordered through the regular Panasonic direct site have been getting shipping notifications the past couple of days. I'd bet the official release date is tomorrow, with the G5 and whatnot.

I get an employee discount for $974.99 but still too expensive. I own a camera that cost me $150... I'm not quite ready to shell out that kind of cash for this lens. may be when I get an OMD.

Did you "like" Panasonic, and go to the "fan only" page, then the VIP Store" link?

Let's see, it still shows $1,039 for me. Plus tax, of course.

Think that's bad? We pay 13% sales tax in Ontario.

Yeah, the only saving grace is when you factor in taxes, I didn't pay quite that much more for it through DigitalRev  And, it arrives tomorrow!

If anyone ends up ordering one over this part of the store please let us know what date they are giving out as an anticipated ship date. Thanks!

$400 doesn't get you a 2.8 zoom WITHOUT IS and WITH OUT C-AF.

Don't get the cynicism, but I'll say it until I'm blue in the face, Panasonic is A VIDEO COMPANY FIRST.

Price is a steal if you're a videographer.

The Nikon counterpart (that doesn't have C-AF) is $1900. Sure you'll get better photos, but the 12-35 will run circles around the nikon for video.
