Now ask yourself, would you prefer to carry one focal length as a "walk around" lens to accommodate all shooting situations or a similar sized lens that affords you 21 different focal lengths which allows you to quickly respond to changing situations such as hey look there's a bird or something a bit further out than you shoes can or should take you?? Considering that the shoe leather Zoom concept is just a myth the answer for me is very clear. Always go with multiple focal length lenses as your base lens and fixed focal length lenses if you subscribe to taking one type of shot over and over or are working in a controlled environment such as a photo shoot where everything is stationary. I just finished watching a Youtube video where Sue Bryce said she uses a variable focal length lens when shooting portraits because it allows her to quickly adjust the composition without having to move about which changes the interface between her and her subject. That is something I have been doing for years.Hello
I’m going to get a 12-32 to go on my Pen F - for its size and the extra bit of width.
Thing is I already own the lovely 14mm F2.5 - will the 12-32 make this redundant ?
Thanks
