I just picked up a Vivitar 55/2.8 macro (FD mount) and I have a question.

If the lens is set to 1:1 is for the FD mount (full-frame 35mm), and the m4/3 sensor is technically half of full-frame, then when I use an adapted legacy macro lens set to 1:1 on my m4/3 camera, is it really 1:0.5?

It *seems* (haven't done actual comparison yet) that I'm getting A LOT closer with the Vivitar 55/2.8 macro at 1:1 compared to my ZD 35/3.5 macro, which is a native 1:1-capable lens for 4/3.

Magnification should be the same. The image might look a bit different because of the focal length.

bingo! I forgot about the focal length difference. I've been using the ZD 35/3.5 macro on my 4/3 kit for years and I'm accustomed to that focal length.
