    OM-D EM10 mkii - worth reparing?

I think I'd be inclined to try for CGA cover, since it's a common issue, and the camera is only four years old. I guess it depends on how much use it's had in those four years? Otherwise, if you want a new camera anyway, maybe just put the money into a new model? Or, you could repair the camera...

For anyone unaware, there are clips available that slide over the aluminium glides on the V1 Slings to stop the creeping. They work very well. If your local Peak Design distributor or retailer doesn't have any, send an email to info@peakdesign.com and they'll be able to send you a set. I may...

    Focus point vs exposure point

I could be wrong, but it appears that it works for me on both the E-M1.1 and E-M5.2. I'm using BBF to focus, then switching to manual and hitting AEL. I guess just focusing manually would be the same? Exposure is still locked (AEL icon still on screen) after full press of the shutter button...

    Changes to site subscriptions

That's great, thanks. Definitely happy to keep it running. Others may also be happy with options to subscribe at a higher rate than $10 per annum, but not sure how to find a figure that would suit the majority of those wishing to do so. Could you keep the $5 a quarter, or was it not popular?

    Changes to site subscriptions

I've just received a notification saying the "$5 Once Every 3 Months" option is no longer available. I guess I missed where that was mentioned. Does that mean the annual $10 irecurring subscription is the only recurring option now?

what photography related item did you buy this week?

This is something I've been meaning to pick up for myself. I'll also need something I can travel with, although it won't be going near a kayak (neither will I!). I really should do something about it.

    Changes to site subscriptions

Last year I started the $5 annual subscription. This year I upped that to the $5 a quarter subscription, because I get so much from the knowledge shared here. I don't say much, and I'd contribute more to the forums if I could, but I'm still learning. The $ conversion is just an unfortunate...

Photo numbering right out of the camera problem

From memory, where you set the PB1 there's a setting (I think) just above it called "File Name", which needs to be set to "Auto". At least, I think that's the setting that continues the file name consecutively without starting again with a card change/erase/format etc. Is that what you're after?

Here is the OM-D E-M1 (mk 1) with the 40-150mm Pro attached, 12-40mm Pro is under it (with one of the bags Flex Fold Dividers protecting the lens), Teleconverter in a pocket at the end of the 40-150mm, and there's a spare battery in the pocket nearer the camera. Note that the lens hood is...

I've just tried the E-M1 (mk. 1) with the 40-150 Pro mounted, and a 12-40mm Pro. It did fit, but not too much play. The teleconverter should fit with it, but didn't try. About to walk out the door but can have another look later if needed. The 10L would certainly fit everything required with a...

    Olympus OM-D E-M10 MARK III

Not Manual Mode on the dial. On the control panel or in your settings (hit the Menu button, go to the gears and it's the top option AF/MF, at least on the E-M1 and E-M5ii) you'll see AF/MF etc. which is the Focus Mode. You need to be in MF or Manual Focus.

    Olympus OM-D E-M10 MARK III

As above. Your camera will be set by default for Auto Focus (using the shutter button). You'll need to switch to M or SAF+M mode. Some lenses (eg. Olympus Pro lenses) have a clutch on the focus ring to switch easily and quickly to manual focus.

Bigger eye piece for EM-10 ii?

I've bought larger eyecups for my E-M1 and E-M5ii, but never direct from Olympus. I bought them from B and H along with a few other items, which brings the freight cost per item down. Main reason for purchase was to assist when using eye glasses. They work well for that. Haven't noticed any...

I've also received the 5L Sling, although haven't yet had a chance to use it. The elusive super-tele decision

The only reason I'm not taking the 75-300 everywhere, is because I just can't be bothered for the little extra reach it gives me over the 210mm. I was thinking perhaps the 100-400 on my E-M5 ii would give enough extra to make it worthwhile? Especially with a bird sitting just out of reach...

    The elusive super-tele decision

The thread now has me thinking. I have the 75-300mm, which I don't use often, as I usually have the 40-150mm Pro accompanied by the Teleconverter, attached to my E-M1. I'm thinking the P100-400 would be a better companion for the 40-150mm Pro? Primarily thinking of expanding for...

There are ways to help stop triglide slippage, but having to mod something just to make it work as it should is not ideal. I've ordered a 5L to add to the collection, as it should suit on occasions where the 10L is a little too big.

Hence my comment above "...it's not really the sort of thing you can do on-the-fly" In theory though, you could easily replace the strap with anything that fits through the tri-glides. It would be a different story if the strap was fixed to the bag, as is often the case.

I bought an E-M1.1 a couple of years ago and a Titanium E-M5II last year. They're both great cameras and I can't see myself changing them any time soon.
