^i agree with that, it just takes more and more practice. the good thing is, this is my first camera system at this setup so there is no "being-used-to" factor, i will start from scratch. i will try that technique of yours too to see if it suites me. thanks

thats for sure, it surprised me the first time i used it. although it would be much better if the C-AF works better (hope you can give me pointers on how to effectively use the C-AF). im planning to get an ec-14. very interesting lens. and the size, it matched very well with the E-M1 with HLD7...

Oly ZD 50-200 SWD or something else (for my E-M1)

oh yeah, the small opening, i understand that. it's a must i guess. but it doesn't mean to the size of the hood i'm concerned. but that's it, ive ordered it. it is slightly over my budget but i thought its worth getting a mint condition as possible. i hope i could get along with it in no time...

Oly ZD 50-200 SWD or something else (for my E-M1)

im not concern about the weight, in fact im not concern about the lens. i even praised it for its superb IQ and nothing in it's price range came close to it. it's that massive hood. i cannot understand why they designed it like that knowing that the non-SWD version's hood is much smaller while...

a Trip to the "Edge of the World" in Riyadh Province

Had a weekend photo roadtrip with my CG buddies to a very remote province in Riyadh KSA tourists called "Edge of the World". Armed with one camera, one lens, bunch of ND filters, a tripod and 3 batteries. my E-M1 and the ZD 12-60SWD will be put to a test and the result is awesome (as far as i...

very decisive input indeed Ron, as always. really appreciate your uplifts on the ZD50-200SWD. one of the reasons i pick first that lens. real photographer like you giving intensive inputs (pros and cons) on a particular lens. if the mft lenses i considered would still fell short in AF Speed and...

ok so here i go again, still confused and not been able to have a definitive reason to buy the Oly ZD 50-200 SWD. i want to try wildlife/birding/ sports photography. i havent shot any of these since i dont own a tele lens. i am almost convinced to buy the Oly ZD 50-200 SWD as it is really...

Using the EM1 with 4/3 Lenses for Sports/Action/Wildlife Photography

i always feel that the legacy fourthirds are worth revisiting. as i feel it is still more optically superior than mft, the only concern is the AF. i sold all 3 of my mft lenses from my all time fave lumix 20mm 1.7(from my first mirrorless. GF1) to the more recent olympus mft lenses for the...

Showcase Sigma 150mm f/2.8 DG macro lens

i could use your advise Ross as you are an existing E-M1, 50-200SWD, Sigma 150macro user. would the 50-200SWD's AF speed on the E-M1 be more than sufficient for action sports and some occasional bird-in-flight photography? i would skip the 40-150 and go big with the 300f4 soon

i recently purchased the ZD50mm f2 macro.. and i,m loving it especially the portrait shots. i tried macro shots with it paired with my E-M1 the other day and it did pretty good. i was getting good sharp images. it was my first time taking macro shots though. i would like to explore more on macro...
