I blurred my shots - what did I do wrong?

I experienced something similar on my Panasonic GX85 (P12-35 lens) this past weekend. I was taking pictures indoors without flash of one of the wedding ceremonies. A lot of people moving around and some dancing. After a few shots, I realized the pictures had motion blur and were not sharp. I...

    Replace my GX85 with…..?

@agentlossing, wondering if you ever tried the Panasonic half case? I have one, but find it is a restricted as there is no cut for the battery. Just trying to figure out if the grip on Gariz is better than the Panasonic. Thanks.

Gx85 or ??? for Travel light

The GX85 is a great camera for travel. Paired with a prime lens, it is very easy to carry around. The P12-35 and GX85 is a good combo. I had fun using the GX85 during my recent trip to Miami. I used the kit 12-32 and 42.5/1.7 mostly.

i Night Shot mode too dark

I don't use any of the iauto or scene modes. I did try the "Handheld Night Shot" Scene (GX85) last week while I was in Miami. It was very windy and I was on the 33rd floor standing and trying to keep my hands sturdy. The results were acceptable for my experiment with the Scenesettings. The...

Panasonic 20mm 1.7 lens on Olympus bodies and focusing speed

I have never tried it at that high ISO. I will be taking my GX85 to Miami in a couple of weeks and will take P20 to get some more use out of it. Just curious to see if I can reproduce banding under different light condition and high ISO.

Panasonic 20mm 1.7 lens on Olympus bodies and focusing speed

I have used this lens on E-M5 II and E-M1.1. It is a great lens to carry around. For taking pictures of my kids, I had better luck with E-M1. I do remember indoors, it was not as fast as I would like it to be - indoor kids party. Although, I am using another body/lens these days, I noticed...

    Lens advice ... 12-40 f2.8 alternative

I sold my O12-40 for the P12-35 when I got the Panasonic GX85. The O12-40 pro on my E-M5 II felt heavy to walk around with. It is just about perfect on the E-M1.

GX85's grip - Make it similar to GX7's grip?

Looks good. I think this is better than buying the Panasonic leather case I did for my GX85. I am hesitant to try this as I am not if overtime this tape will leave any residue.

    Equipping a new GX85

I tried to use the thumb grip, but the way I am holding the camera, it does not feel natural to me. I think it has to do with my recent move to back button focusing. The thumb grip with trying back button focus is perhaps is not a good combination for me. I did buy the Panasonic leather case...

    E-M1 or E-M5 II paired with 12-40MM F/2.8 Pro?

I had both and sold the E-M5 II recently. I also had the O12-40. With longer lens, E-M1 feels better in my hand. Moreover, I had better luck/keepers taking pictures of my kids with E-M1. I am trying GX85 these days and finding it even better for my use case. Plus, I am slowly moving to primes...

    GX85 sensor problem?

My GX85 had the same issue yesterday. I was trying/playing around with the wifi settings to send jpg/raw to my computer. I was talking few pictures while the camera was trying to upload the pictures simultaneously. I took a short break and saw the camera was still trying to upload the...

travel backpacking camera gx85 or a6300?

Just bought the GX85 and P12-35 lens for grab and go and for travel. It seems like a great light weight combo for travel.

    What's your favorite lens?

Why no love for the P12-35/f2.8? I am selling my O12-40/f2.8 for the Panasonic. No other reason than for size and weight. Just bough the P42.5 to compliment my P12-35. It seems like more folks own the O12-40. My favorite has been P20 and now the P12-35.

    Portrait and other things lens?

I struggle with the same issue. Keep buying equipment (faster lenses, etc) to compensate for lack of my patience or trying to keep my two sons still even for a moment. My recent purchase is the P42.5 f1.7. Let's see how I do with that.

    Your light travel kit?

E-M1 = Mostly P20, O12-150 or O12-40 Now with my GX85 = P20, P42.5 (new addition). I tried P12-35 and I still think it is too big/heavy for a camera the size of GX85. I know many will like that combination, but for a light travel kit, GX85 with P12-35 does not make sense to me. I have O14-150...

I called BHPhoto to ask them if they would give me the additional $50 GC to match the Adorama's current deal, and they said they will. Seems like a great service from these two companies. I wonder what the profit margin is for Panasonic or the vendors on this camera.

    GX85 w/ 12-32, 45-150 & $100 Gift card (B&H)

I too am left eye dominant with glasses. I think EVF is too recessed on the GX85. A while back I had the GX7 and liked the option of being able to set focus using the touchpad while using the EVF. I don't recall my nose touching the touchpad being an issue. I hope Panasonic is not going the...

    GX85 w/ 12-32, 45-150 & $100 Gift card (B&H)

Hal, Thanks for the responses. Having used O12-40 and now P12-35, I like the P12-35 for size and weight. On the GX85, I think P12-35 it still too heavy given the camera and lens size/weight and how I want to use this camera. I'll use the P12-35 for my E-M1 and use P20 and recently bought...

    GX85 w/ 12-32, 45-150 & $100 Gift card (B&H)

Hal, Thanks for the great review. I just started playing with my GX85. The thing that I can't get used are the buttons on the back. They are way to plushed and hard to get that tactical feel. Especially in low light. I think it may be due to the fact that I am coming off E-M1 and E-M5 II and...

Mine come with 30 counts as well. Everything else looked brand new with no date or language set. However, the camera box seal was open. I did contact B&H and they said that the camera was never sold before. For the 3 year warranty, do we have to cut the UPC code and mail it to Panasonic with...

GX85 black or silver - which will age better?

I received mine yesterday and opened it to charge the battery. The GX85 is really small. I think that is what I wanted, but compared to my EM1, this thing looks/feels small and light. Perhaps, the small size of the EVF threw me off. The EVF is smaller (which I already knew) than my EM1 or EM5...

Nice. I am glad that B&H is being so flexible. I was thinking about doing the same as you did. However, last night I saw the open box travel pack with warranty for $55 on B&H website and bought that. I have no use for the 45-150 lens, so will end up selling it at some point. I like my Olympus...

    GX85 w/ 12-32, 45-150 & $100 Gift card (B&H)

I called and they will send me the lens, but I will have to return the travel kit. That is fair enough as I buy third party travel charger and extra batteries anyways. B&H already sent me an email to exchange the travel pack for the lens. My camera arrives tomorrow. Great service from B&H.

    GX85 w/ 12-32, 45-150 & $100 Gift card (B&H)

Just when I bought last week with the $100 GC and travel pack promo from B&H. I think the free lens seems be a better option. I'll see if they can exchange the travel kit for the lens.

GX85 black or silver - which will age better?

I just ordered GX85 in silver/black. My EM1 and EM5 II are all silver/black. I do like that look as it is different than other cameras have been in back color. Come to think about it, maybe I should have ordered the GX85 in black.

Am I mad? Switching from E-M5 II to E-M1?

I just switched to E-M1. I am getting more keepers when taking pictures of my kids and our dog. Even on vacations I am having better luck. On my recent trip to Napa Valley, I just took my P20 II and did not miss the O12-40. I will have to decide if I want to keep my E-M5 II or not. But, from...

    em1 vs. em5mk2 after a few weeks
