Still no Mu-43 Next to my Panasonic LX3, I bought a Pentax K-x and that is still the camera's me (and my wife) use (besides the camera in her Samsung note). We moved back home to the Netherlands (from 1 year Japan), so less time for internet... - All doing well, always looking forward to go...

'Micro 4/3 is the Big Kahuna' at The Online Photographer

IMHO (as expected) a disappointing introduction of Nikon to the mirrorless camera system. - Only the brand name itself might help them (and reduce the pain in their DSLR business) I would go for the Panasonic GFX1 (Mu43 pro - L1-look-a-like), especially in combination with some killing...

Why do you think so? - it isn't easy to get outside the Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxemburg)

Are you looking forward to the Sony A77?

Imagine going for a local photography course, how many teachers will advise a mirrorless camera over a Nikon or Canon? - The amount of lenses in the market for borrowing from a more experienced student and ending up buying (second hand and indirectly financing a new lens for the more experienced...

Another company to enter the 3D Camera business - with link to cool video

Herman, it is only you who is interested in 3D? - I thought is was pretty cool but Kinectimals and multimedia center are short term main applications for us - I am for sure going to buy the new version of Forza racing game in which you can steer without the controller and look around in the...

Another company to enter the 3D Camera business - with link to cool video

Hey Guys, I was planning to buy a multi media player with HDD to rip all my CD's to then I saw a nice gadget for a game console my daughters would love, especially the baby tiger game. But when I ran into below videos, I thought about Panasonic 3D... YouTube - 3D Video Capture with...

    Goodbye

Barrie, the interview was fun to do for me as well and when I want to do some black and white landscapes or "catch" some dragonflies I will think about you for sure. Thanks, yeah I am planning to move from equipment to applications, within the photography sector, to enhance joy and results...

    Goodbye

Yeah, that is right!!! - Oh, my LX3 kind of became my wife's LX3 (with leather case and so), that is another reason I didn't go for the GF series, for sure it would have ended up in her bag as well... - If the LX3 won't die on us then I can only consider a water proof compact. Are those...

    Goodbye

Thanks for your reply - 3 sets is a little too much for me (I will sell my Canon DSLR stuff) - I bought 50-200 mm used for 50 Euro's, better than 55-300 mm in other aspects... (but I will keep my eyes open for it on the used market - also looking for 18-250 mm!!!)

    Goodbye

Dear All, As some of you know, I recently bought a non-mu43 DSLR and next to that I am also planning to move back to the Netherlands with my whole family (already before the end of this year). Besides some home improvement projects (painting outside + bathroom renovation) I hope to invest...

    I Want Slow Lenses

I am with you: - The new Pentax 35 mm F2.4 icw a "fast" Sigma / Tamron tele zoom 50-150 or 70-200 mm F2.8 will make my MF 50 mm F1.4 close to obsolete. - But a good and affordable compact auto focus Pentax prime (Limited - light in the 70-100 mm range might be more interesting than that big...
  19. JoepLX3

    I Want Slow Lenses

The new Pentax 35 mm F2.4 is also very compact AND affordable - Just like most of their (more expensive) limited lenses I hope Pentax will also release an affordable and compact prime in 70-90 mm range (maybe with macro capability)

    Physics

Some remarks on your comments - I can also be wrong... 1) Do you mean sharpness at pixel level or A4 print viewed at 1 m distance? 2) If High ISO performance is as good as low ISO level then you can use shutter time for motion blur (slow if you want blur or fast if you don't want blut)...

    GF2 has been announced

I think GF2 is good move from Panasonic - Many people that already own GF1 won't upgrade, but buy another Panasonic lens - It is good camera against competitions (especially addressing P&S audience, with touch control + stereo) I am curious about high ISO performance (is it a new sensor...

What's an AFFORDABLE, legacy lens for portraits and scenery?

I just started with MF 28, 50, 135, 200 mm to play, but am already sure I get used to 2-3 nice AF primes next to zooms covering "full" range, which focal lenghts indeed needs some playing around (but on M43 not much AF to select from yet).

Satisfied, but needing better... My Pentax K-x is close to as compact as G2, much better VF, significantly cheaper and IMHO besides weight and maybe video / lifeview not worse at anything. - Oh, I personally am happy to trade in light weight for build quality - But giving up OVF for...

First time using a studio & lighting for a Model shoot. Thoughts?

Biggest improvement is for sure the models looking into the camera - Guess you were talking to them The light looks pretty good to me, posing is distracting me most. - The nose of the blond looks pretty long (probably even longer than it really is) in most pictures... - The dark lady in...

    General Thoughts

I also have my concerns for the long term future of mu43, but that is mainly because I think Nikon, Canon and not to forget Sony and Samsung will probably have a deeper pockets than Panasonic and Olympus. But that doesn't explain well why I ended up going for Pentax... IMO mu43 is a perfect...

Good advice!!! - I went down (focussing on smilling guy in the middle) to make this one more interesting (I could/should have gone lower...): PS: It was pretty funny because I had to challenge / tease them to come close enough for me to get this picture with my UWA lens, their "sharp"...

    General Thoughts

Sorry for replying 3x in-a-row... - After anouncement of K-5 and K-r on Pentax forum the K-x and K-7 became "bad" camera's - I enjoyed my time there to select my toy/tool but now start focusing on using it Last weekend during parade in Nagoya - Utilizing AWE, OVF and tele zoom that our LX3...

    General Thoughts

Thanks Ray - I have LX3 for its compactness!!! Very correct words and as a photographer (in my case beginner / hobby-only) you want to have a tool be able to make it look a little more special, so with compactness of mu43, this system is pretty much a perfect match.

Great thread: - Thanks to DJ to open up wrt his "concerns" - Thanks to John to show some very nice results to try to proof he is "wrong" - TBC Every camera (format) has its limitations, but most camera-(format)'s are IMHO actually pretty much capable to "capture the moment", it is all...
