Ever heard of the Mason Dixon Line?

You know, I live fairly close to the Mason Dixon Line and have never sought out one of these markers. What's wrong with me? :) I will have to look for them now.

    G1, G3 or E-P3?

I've got the G1, G2 and G3. Love them all, but the G3 is so much better in low light and even though it's almost "too small" for me, I use it most of the time. Very underrated and can be had cheaply if you look...

No, he's just a mutt. A rescued dog we've had for a long time. He's probably about 10 or 11 years old at this point. Probably a cockapoo or some mix like that.

These lenses are real bargains. As much as I would have preferred more pancake type sizes, they are made well and perform well. And are a fraction of the price of the Olympus and Panasonic alternatives.

Thank you! I'm really enjoying this lens a lot more than I thought I would. I like it so much, in fact, I've ordered the 19mm f2.8 Sigma as well. It's on the way. I'd enjoy seeing what you do with your 30mm when it arrives! Here's another dog photo with mine---

Jupiter lenses vs. the more normal Japanese ones

Jupiter lenses vs. the more normal Japanese ones

I think the Rainbow Imaging only has the adapter for Nikon S Contax RF lenses that have their own focusing helicals. They don't have the one for the 5cm lenses. bondscamera is the only seller I've seen that has it. Goes for around $185.

Jupiter lenses vs. the more normal Japanese ones

I could swear there is an Italian guy who makes Contax RF adapters too. I don't remember his name. The Kipon adapter can be found from Hong Kong on ebay from seller "bondscamera". They are very good. Got mine fairly quickly from Hong Kong to the US. Amedeo is in Venezuela and I'm not sure...

Jupiter lenses vs. the more normal Japanese ones

This is true, but there is something special about using an old rangefinder lens on M 4/3. I have the Amedeo adapter which seems to work better with Nikon RF lenses than Contax/Kiev, and the Kipon Advanced Contax adapter, which works better with the Contax/Kiev for some reason. A bit pricier...

Will have to take a shot of mine. The Pentax 1.7 SMC-M is a great lens, pretty small. Better shooter in some ways than the faster f1.4 SMC Pentax.

    Holgas, Dianas and the like...

Hi, yes I am a lo-tech fan too. I have my collection of Dianas still. Didn't sell them when the market was good :) I even took the lens from one and adapted it to my old Pentax *istDL. Haven't cobbled it onto the Lumix G1 yet though. I never warmed up to the Holga as much as I'd wanted to...

    Comments on Adapters

fotodiox Any of the Fotodiox or other adapters with the little concentric circle shaped release levers should be avoided, in my opinion. They have been known to fail. Go for one with a better design, like a flat release tab or the Voigtlander/Metabones type triangular release.

    Comments on Adapters

The Metabones Nikon adapter is spectacular! It has little springs in the mount to keep the lens from rattlling or moving. Careful with the Fotodiox adapters. My M42 adapter from them has internal ridges that prevent its use with SMC Takumars. I got a second no name one that works fine...

    Reformed DSLR Shooter

As another Red G1 user, welcome! I use mine primarily with every other lens I own than the kit lens, although the kit lens is really fine. It's just that I can use all my old glass, so why not use that first? Please immediately buy adapters for any other lenses you own.

Picked up some Pentax Lenses on CL to adapt to my GF1

Any M42 adapter should work for the Takumars. Be aware though that some of the adapters don't work right with the Super Multi Coated takumars because of the aperture control lever that rubs the inside of some adapters. I found this out the hard way.

    Stereo with Micro Four Thirds

Very nice stereo shot! I don't normally do mine for crosseyed viewing, but maybe I should try them that way. Not everyone can freeview parallel comfortably. Incidentally, you can save and load a stereo image into Stereo Photo Maker and change it to your liking to a format you prefer. Very...

    Stereo with Micro Four Thirds

I've dabbled in stereo for some time now, and have enjoyed using the Kodak Stereo, The Stereo Realist and Revere Stereo cameras, as well as the Pentax Stereo adapter, (beamsplitter). Hell, I even shoot stereo with my IPhone! But still enjoy the though of making it happen with my G1. Will...

    Stereo with Micro Four Thirds

Okay, so stereo is foreign to many of you I'm sure, but have you tried shooting stereo yet with your Mu-43 camera? You can use a beamsplitter attachment with a prime lens, or you can just take two shots while leaning your weight alternately on either foot. If you don't want to line them up...
