    E-PL1 on a hike...

Great shots tpitch:thumbup: I really like the fifth one down with the moss covered rock and the stream. Very relaxing...... The second one down looks interesting. I'm guessing you must have done something to the stone wall with Photoshop? The last one sends shivers down my spine though...

    Japanese village.

BBW, thanks for taking the time to post both here and also on my Flickr gallery:smile: I'm really pleased that you like some of my photos. I'll have a good look through your Flickr account over the next few days:thumbup: All the black and whites were done within the camera. The only things...

    Old Japanese buildings.

Thanks for looking tpitch:smile: The original photos were all warmer (more red?) and looked better than these. Uploading them onto the internet has effected the colour for some reason, especially the chilli peppers and roses. Next time I'll try to up the red slightly before I upload....

    Old Japanese buildings.

I've posted more shots of the buildings in the black and white section. These were taken with an E-PL1 with the 14-42mm kit lens. They've all had some aperture work done to them. Comments and suggestions welcome:smile: <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/27448188@N02/4576909717/"...

    Japanese village.

I visited a two small villages in the Nagano mountains at the weekend. I tried black and white for the first time with my E-PL1. The first three have had a small amount of work done in Aperture and the file sizes were reduced for uploading. Comments and suggestions are welcome:smile: E-PL1...

    E-PL1 image thread

Thanks for posting the links. I installed Aperture a couple of days ago. Its the previous version but I'm still enjoying using it. I've a lot to learn but I can see how useful its going to be:thumbup: I've shown the Diorama shot to a few people and they all thought it was a model. I'll...

    Some shots from Whitby

Love your post!!! It brings back so many happy memories from when I was young. I was born in North Yorkshire and most of my family is from up there. My parents moved down to the Midlands when I was a couple of years old but we always went back up North for the holidays!!! I can still...

    E-PL1 image thread

I downloaded Aperture to use it for its trial period but I've never actually tried it! With my old P&S I'd use iPhoto from time to time and always found it fine for what I wanted to do. I've seen the amazing results people get from post processing so maybe I'll have to give it a try:wink...

    E-PL1 image thread

I think you're right about the pin hole effect. I'll try it again tomorrow and see if I get similar results. Actually I don't use any post processing. None of the pictures posted here or in my gallery have been touched. No croping, sharpening, straightening or colour adjustment. They are...

    E-PL1 image thread

Thanks BBW:smile: I've posted quite a few shots here this week in the hope of showing other point and shoots users just how easy the E-PL1 is to use. Checking all the great posts on this site really helped me decide that moving up from p&s to :43: was the right thing to do:thumbup: With...

    Aki-Asahi skin for E-PL1

The kit lens is fine for me at the moment. From what I've read most people complain about the build quality and cheapness of it, but I'm happy. Like I said I've only used P&S before so I have nothing to compare it against. My next lens probably will be the 20mm when I've saved enough. I need...

    Aki-Asahi skin for E-PL1

I placed the order one evening a few weeks ago and the following morning got a conformation email. The skin arrived two days later (because I live in Japan). I think I've read on his web-site that cases do take a couple of weeks to be made following the initial order as they are only made to...

    Aki-Asahi skin for E-PL1

Thanks for checking out my gallery!!! Yes, it is the kit lens (14-42). I'm really new to this having only used point and shoots before so I still have a lot to learn. Its great being a member of this forum as the more experienced users can offer lots of helpful and friendly advice to...

Thanks, it grips really well now especially around the thumb area. If anyone is thinking about it, I can certainly recommend them. Easy to apply, easy to grip and looks good:cool:

Thanks for the advice. I went out the next day and played about with the metering a little. I managed to get the shadow areas looking better but lost the sky.... I'll have to try again:thumbup: Here is my attempt at bokeh. Its the height of the cherry blossom season at the moment so...

    Aki-Asahi skin for E-PL1

Got my E-PL1 yesterday and the first thing I did was put an Aki-Asahi skin on it. I'm really pleased with how it came out:smile: Hopefully these shots will give you an idea of how it looks. Please ignore the quality.......

    E-PL1 image thread

After a months wait I finally got a black E-PL1 yesterday:happy-084: I'd been watching the prices going down over the past few weeks and yesterday they dropped even more so I decided the time was right. I picked up a screen protector which also has an anti glare coating so hopefully it will...

    Camera manuals on iPhone.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I guess you could describe it as software. The new e-pl1 finally went on sale here (Japan) on Friday last week. I'll definitely be getting one once a get paid in two weeks time. As I'll be buying a camera sold for the Japanese market...

    Hello from Japan

Thanks for all the warm welcomes:smile: I'm currently a point and shoot user so the e-pl1 should be perfect for me. I've added a link to some photographs I took last year. Do you think the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 lens would be suitable for these kinds of pictures?

    Hello from Japan

Its an amazing country and well worth the visit:smile: I'm thinking about buying the camera body only and getting the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 lens. I'll try and upload some photographs from over here to my gallery in the next few days as I'd like to know if the lens is suitable for the type of...

    Hello from Japan

Hi, thanks for the message!!! I had a look in my browsers history and the last place I visited before my first visit here was......The Online Photographer. I'd been interested in Micro Four Thirds since last summer but didn't have the money to buy one. I'd read about the e-pl1 on another site...
