I went golfing Sunday morning and took this shot on hole #14 at my club using my iPhone. I boosted the saturation a little using the Photo Shop app. My ball landed to the left of where I was standing when I took this pic. *SPLASH* :big grin:

Well, here's my entry created using a GF1 with the Lumix 14-140mm zoom set at 41mm. It's a photo of one of the rides at our local fair taken at night. I was was really trying to capture the movement of the ride. Exposure info: ISO 100, 1.6 sec at f/5.3

Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm f1.4 ASPH available here for $589

I wonder if the "international transaction fees" are specific to your credit card? I've never been charged that fee as a Canadian buying (lots of) stuff in the U.S. Regardless, I would call the credit card company and get them to waive the fee. It'll be easier to do that if you tell them...

Panasonic Leica DG Summilux 25mm f1.4 ASPH available here for $589

Well I made the plunge and ordered this lens last week and it arrived today. Boy, I'm sure looking forward to running it through its paces next week in New Orleans

    "Lets go to the Ex"

Oh kewl! It's also similar to the cover of Jeff Wignall's "Exposure Photo Workshop" book published by Wiley. The "Ex" is one of my favourite places to experiment with long exposures. The colourful lights are exceptional subjects. P.S. Come to think of it, maybe "Ex" stands for exposure in...

    "Lets go to the Ex"

I would say they are the Canadian equivalent of a state fair. The Canadian National Exhibition is the biggest one in Canada. My home town hosts one called the "CLE" or Canadian Lakehead Exhibition. They have a traveling carnival/midway, entertainment and, of course, a bunch of agricultural...

    Showcase Panasonic 20mm f/1.7

This is a night scene I shot at the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition using a handheld Panasonic GF2 with the 20mm Pany. Exposure was 1/13 sec at f/1.7 with the camera set at ISO 400.

Aden is probably my favourite supplier. Their prices are the lowest (more often than not) and if you check online from time to time, they'll have good sale prices.

    Which M43 ?

I totally agree. Maybe the GF7 will address this deficiency
  16. W

    Which M43 ?

That touchscreen was the main reason I bought the GF2 in the first place. I got tired of coaxing the E-P1 and GF1 to focus on want I wanted. The focus tracking function is kind of neat too.
  17. W

    Which M43 ?

I've got an E-P1, E-P2 (just arrived today!), two GF1s and GF2. In your shoes, I would probably lean towards the GF2 with either the 14mm or kit zoom lens (for now). You can likely find it for a discounted price given the GF3's release. I like the touch screen control it offers, especially...

    2011-12 NFL Season

    2011-12 NFL Season

Thanks Photorx12! Make sure you take your camera with you for some street shooting at the tailgate party before the game. Are you going to be dressed like this guy? Photo taken with GF-1 using Pany 14-140mm zoom set at 81mm. Exposure data: ISO 100, 1/125 sec at f/5.8. I took...

    2011-12 NFL Season

Micro 4/3 cameras are the best choice for taking photos at NFL games. I went to a Viking game last September and tried to get in with my Canon 50D and 70-200mm L glass zoom. The guards wouldn't let me in with the lens because it was too long! Apparently, the NFL doesn't like fans taking...

    Recovering Images from Lightroom

Just replace them with the files on your back-up drive! P.S. If you don't have a back-up drive it would be a good idea to get one as insurance against future cat mishaps. I think I would keel over if lost all my image files, so I have multiple drives that I keep on-site and at work.

Time to Vote! July 2011 Photo Contest - Sponsored by Nik Software

Hmmmmmm..... here are some ..... thoughts .... after reading this string. First, I think it's absolutely OK to vote for your own photo in one of these contests. Moms and wives should also be OK. If the mods agree, then perhaps a note to that effect could be included in the voting...
