    High School Performance with E-PL1 & 20mm

I have a 12 year old and I think the biggest battle (camera notwithstanding) is to get to the event early enough to get a decent seat from which to photograph. It gets pretty cut-throat at our school, as people line up early and jockey to get a good vantage point seat-wise.

...the best with what you have

Thanks for the image and note. Glad to hear everything is improving. I have been thru something like this with my son a few years back but for only 3 days. Eight days must have felt like an eternity! I think your image portrays the monotony of waiting and the helplessness you feel when all...

    Quick Release Strap Suggestion Wanted

I use Optech's utility sling strap and their slr wrist strap with my dslr and have used that setup when I had a G2. It is a little too much for a smaller body like the GF1 or 2 but would be fine for the GH2. The quick connectors do stay on the post but do not get in my way and are...

    Silver Efex Pro 2 tips/techniques

Bob, I have taken what webinars I can find at Nik regarding SEP2. When demonstrating selective color, they always zoom in on the item they are colorizing, reduce the diameter of the control points to very small, and overall use a lot of them both on the item you are trying to colorize, as...

    Screen Protector for GF2/Touchscreen (non-capacitive)

I used a GF1 leftover I had from Boxwave (non-glare version which I prefer). I had to trim it a bit to get it to fit exactly. Boxwave is usually pretty precise on their measurement specific to a given make/model and will eventually most likely make a GF2 version. They are a little slow on...

COMPLETED SOLD: (US) Panasonic 14-45 mm lens - (Price drop)

Thank Rich. I agree. I am just not using it. I bought it at a good price but without much forethought from a local camera shop who was clearing out inventory. I have the 14, 20, and 45 and shoot with those on my GF2 and just ended up not really not needing this one for my kit.

Before & After Aperture Presets 45-200

Alan, The best learning experience I have had for Aperture 3 was pro-photog Derrick Story's Aperture 3 training course at You can join for a month for $25.00 and take as many courses as you have time for. The course starts a little slow and many of the things I already knew, but...

I would agree that the Streamlite option is not the best in the world. I tried that once, learned its shortcomings, and just never chose that option again. where to buy GF2?

What Lisa said. I got mine at Sammy's online as they were the only one's who had them in stock (body only) at the time. I'd add that the Amazon return policy is excellent and their whole return process, if needed, is pretty streamlined and automated. Adorama is good in that respect also.

Opinions Please -- is this as good as it gets?

    Silver Effex 2 Issues

Ray, As you said, Nik says it isn't suppose to matter, but I have have no issues on both the iMac and 13 inch macbook, and I did uninstall on both. If you do not have the dmg file for version 1, you can download from Nik and use the built-in uninstall to do the work. I did it that way on the...

    GF2 and the 14-140mm

Personally, I would hold onto it until you are sure you like the heavier and larger 14-140 and it fits your needs and style. The 14-45 is not available anymore from Panasonic and most agree that it is a tad better image-wise than the current offering (14-42) and it is by far a better made lens...

    Nik's Silver Efex Pro 2 - Released

Don, there seems to be a little quirkiness in the borders portion. As it is a brand new feature to Nik, hopefully it is just a matter of tweaking. I use Aperture 3 as you know, and it is a roundtrip out to SEP2 and then back to Aperture. I had a photo that I had cropped first, went into SEP2...

Very nice. I grew up in the Boston area where we used the term "cobbler". Where I live now and most other sections of the US, they don't associate that term with shoe repair. I like the term and hope it doesn't die off. I have a friend who studied saddlery in your country for 3 years as a...

    Bags and more bags

Fred, I saw this post over at dpr where another maxpediton user coupled the pack with one of the Domke inserts to further customize the bag. Adorama seems to always have the best selection of Domke inserts if you decide to go that route. Amazon has them but always seems to be out of most...
