Been digging a new band I found called Spiral Guru. Reminds me a little of Jefferson Airplane. A bit more modern. And a bit more "hard rock." But good stuff.

I mean if you do it yourself from that website linked above. Its not an official Olympus site, or procedure.

Anyone been to a "Clean and Check"?

Interesting, thanks. I was under the impression the only way to update an Olympus camera was with the cable and update software. And this doesnt void your warranty?

Anyone been to a "Clean and Check"?

Also, pretty sure they updated the firmware with an SD card. They didnt plug my camera into anything while I was there, but they did put an SD card in it. How come we can't do it that way ourselves?

Anyone been to a "Clean and Check"?

Olympus finally had a "Clean and Check" here in Portland this weekend. I took my E-M10 and lenses in today. Everything went really well. They even updated the firmware on the camera. I didnt actually know there was one available, and after I bricked a Panasonic lens with their update software, I...

Northrup and M43 - "Normal" buying cycle

There is another caveat to be aware of for that Google phone's camera being "slow". Not only is the main processor in the phone slower, but the new cheaper models do not have the dedicated hardware processor for the camera like the more expensive model has. That is what makes the more expensive...

Northrup and M43 - "Normal" buying cycle

I think the reason you don't see M4/3 in stores is because most people see M4/3 is more of a hobbyist format. And my experience with camera stores is they don't seem to care about the hobbyist photographer at all.

That possibility has always been there. With any software. You dont "own" anything. Its all licensed. User agreements have said this forever. People just dont read them.

    Adobe price rise rumor, again

Glad I cancelled Adobe last year and bought On1 Photo Raw. With that and some others I purchased as a package for $25 though Humble Bundle (ACDSee Photo Studio Ultimate (1 year sub), Photo Lemur 2, Aurora HDR, Imerge Pro, PaintShop Pro) I have not missed Adobe products at all.

Help me pick computer for photo editing

The monitor is going to be the part you want to worry about for calibration. You dont need a dedicated video card for photos. Maybe for video. But the newer Intel and AMD cpus have pretty capable video hardware built right on the cpu die now. And almost every mainstream PC you would buy from a...

Help me pick computer for photo editing

Your price point shouldnt be a problem. But honestly, just buy something from Dell. They are really solid machines. Your monitor is what you need to be picky about, as its what you will be looking at when editing.

A day out with the Panasonic 25mm 1.7 Pic Heavy

Very nice! I really liked that lens when I had it. Unfortunately, I rendered it useless with a botched firmware update on my Oly camera. I ended up selling it for parts on ebay. I have since replaced it with the Oly 25mm 1.8.

    Scammed by McAfee

I was an Avast advocate/user until I went to Windows 8. I was an early adopter, and Avast didnt have a version of their AV that worked with the new version of Windows. So I just used Defender and I have never looked back.

    About the new OM-D.

I have never heard of a Panasonic user bricking anything during an SD card firmware update. The SD card method removes more areas where communication to the camera can fail.
