Thanks, Luke. Sorry the timing is not good for you. I am having early onset pre-seller's remorse on this one. Fun camera and only 99 clicks since Oly replaced the board/shutter. Pen-f Shutter Count by krugorg posted Jun 8, 2017 at 8:11 PM

    20% off Olympus store

A bit relieved that I am now unable to add the black E-P5 to my shopping cart (looks like out of stock)... I was curious if you could get the lens rebates when purchasing a refurbished camera from Olympus? I tried adding some and didn't see a discount, but I didn't go all the way to order...

    Voigtlander 42.5mm vs. Fuji 56mm F1.2

What about the Panasonic 42.5mm or Olympus 75mm? Great isolation and nice look to the images, plus fast AF to keep up with that toddler (I think the X-E1 would be noticeably slower). Also, would think that IBIS will come in handy with video? I do like the Sony Zeiss 55/1.8 a lot on my A7 if...

In the market for a pocketable compact - recommendations

Have you had a chance to check out the GM1? Very small and light. The lens does add depth, versus the RX100 for example, but I am more comfortable putting it into a linty pocket than I would be with a fixed/retractable lens camera (I've had a couple fixed cameras develop dust-on-sensor issues).

    Voightlanders vs the PL lenses

You could always keep the Olympus for telephoto? Maybe also pick up the Oly 25/1.8 for a nice, compact carry option? By the way, check out the Canon 35/2 USM IS for that 6D. I really liked the combo... compact/light for FF, sharp, nice rendering and the IS came in handy. Good luck!

Selling on this forum is painful

I think the key is to price items aggressively/realistically from the beginning. I usually discount a decent amount below lowest new price and factor in that I am not paying an Ebay seller fee (~10%). Unfortunately, mirrorless bodies do not have a great resale value with the frequent product...

    GM1 - now or later

It is hard to imagine how small the GM1 is until you have one in hand. Also, the fill flash comes in handy and the video quality is excellent.

    Pondering a Sony A7 ....

Get the A7, Robbie, if you are going that way (why did everyone start talking about the A7R?): safer bet on wide angle adapted lenses, electronic first curtain option, and I have never looked at the raw files and said "man, I really wish I had more resolution!"

Tripod with Multi-Angle Positionable Center Column?

I just picked up a Benro Versatile C2970F carbon tripod. I like it so far: sturdy, fairly light and quick to setup. http://www.benrousa.com/products/versatile/benro-c2970f.aspx I was able to get it for $299 with free shipping from an authorized US reseller via Ebay.

    Pondering a Sony A7 ....

I have been using an A7, mostly for base ISO landscapes, and really like the camera. I say go for it! A few comments from my experience: I miss IBIS, but I can handhold the A7 to slower shutter speeds than I can with 16mpx APS-C (assume this is due to pixel pitch/size) 35/2.8 is sharp on...

Panasonic May Launch a Fixed Lens Compact Camera with a Four-Thirds Sensor

I am excited to see this one! I hope it is a fast wide-normal (17-20mm) with solid dust sealing, built in flash and stabilization. Oh yeah, and a minimum shutter speed setting for auto iso would be nice! ;)

    Bye bye GX7?

Who knows if the rumor is true; but rapid product refresh seems to be the norm with compact camera systems. Haha +1 I like it! For me, it is kind of liking the band that most people have never heard about.

Suggestions for inserts for Timbuk2 Classic Messenger-Small for OMD EM5 + a couple lenses

Broken E-PL2 - what to do?!

Sorry about the broken E-PL2! E-PM2 does seem like the best deal, at the moment. Used and refurbished pricing on the E-M5 is pretty good now(~ $600)... you would get a bit better controls, a viewfinder and weather-sealing.

    Olympus OM-D E-M5 + zuiko 17mm 1.8 vs Fuji X-E1 + 18-55 + 50-230 (for the same $)

+1 what Sean said on the zoom being a good place to start with the E-M5. She could always add a 25/1.8 or 45/1.8 later. I am guessing this is all coming as a kit, but also would wonder whether she would want/need the grip. With the X-E1, could you get the 35/1.8 and 18-55 instead? It seems...

Black Levels - MacBook Pro Retina

Fuji needs to pack Iridient or Photo Ninja with their cameras!

I should give Photo Ninja a shot again, but I did try out Iridient on my x-trans files (Photo Ninja wasn't working with the XT1 when I tried). I got more detail, but I also had more noise and some funky color artifacts. It just seems like there are trade offs with all of the raw processors for...

    Help deciding on camera!

Welcome to the user group! I think the biggest difference is the built-in viewfinder on the E-M10. Is this something you would use a lot? You can always get an add-on viewfinder, but I find these to be a bit fiddly if it is something you are going to use all the time.

I wouldn't have initially thought of that combo either (until I saw Amin's setup). I do now think it is the coolest color combo for the E-M5!
