A final comment on this thread. I just received the replacement body. The other body definitely was a demo (or similar). The replacement has the complete box, screen protector on screen (which will be removed for proper protector), and all the cables and warranty card (which the other model did...
The company shipped me a replacement today via overnight courier so I should have it tomorrow afternoon. The replacement body will be black.
Although the online store has a number of retail outlets, I doubt it was a return (we don't have the return policies in Australia that other countries...
Thanks for the replies.
I suspected it was an ex-demo/display model due to the way it was packed in the box (card box interior crushed etc.), along with the scuff marks on the body. I contacted the online store I purchased the kit from and asked them if they had shipped me an open-box item by...
I have just received my new EM-1. First thing I noticed is that there was no clear protector on the screen. My previous Olympus cameras have had this. Is just something new, or does the EM-1 come with the clear protector? I am curious as my silver body has some scruff marks on it and want to...
It has been confirmed by Olympus that you can claim both deals.
I just pulled the trigger on the E-M1/12-40 combination from DigiDirect: $1472 for the kit, then $250 cashback from Olympus, along with the grip and battery. Not bad for a final price of $1222. :)
For the people wanting silver. If you select that before adding to cart, you will get silver (even if it doesn't say so). I ordered silver for both the body and the kit and both were as ordered upon collection.
The deals are not a mistake. I grabbed the EP5 body last night when they had it for $575 and I grabbed the kit this morning when they had it for $1075. Had to pay a credit card transaction fee of 1% (so about $15 on the total price). I live 30 minutes drive away and so picked them up not long...
Ninety percent of my camera purchases are done via B&H. Have been using them for years (as far back as when you had to fax your certified ID/credit card to them for international orders - first time only). Usually get my orders less than five days to Perth.
I placed my most recent order on...
Great images. :)
I live not far from the prison and usually take out-of-state visitors there.
Years ago, you were able to tour the prison more freely, but these days it is a completely guided tour.
Along with the night tour, there is also the option of the tunnel tours which are twenty metres...
I believe DeeJayK is on vacation, but in the other thread I think we were going to start on 1st September if everyone was good-to-go. If we agree on this, I will start a thread on 1st September to get the ball rolling.
Yes, I have this on my Kindle, its a good book for the price.
I do not recommend the Kindle version of this book - the formatting is terrible and blurry. Grab the paperback version - it's definitely worth it.
My first vote is for: The Passionate Photgrapher (enjoyed the sample preview on Amazon).
My second vote is for: Visual Poetry.
But I will probably order both books at the same time as the reviews for each book are very positive.
I'm definitely interested.
I also think this could be a good book: The Passionate Photographer: Ten Steps Toward Becoming Great.
I think once a book is decided upon, there would need to be a period of time for those of us who are not based in the USA to source the book and have it shipped to...
I was going to get the SuperColorIR (590nm) because according to LIfe Pixel "this IR filter is also great for black & white IR photography" (so no need for the external filter). However, I do like the look of your images so now I am conflicted.
Can you provide a link to this? I looked on Life Pixels website and can only find SuperColorIR (590nm), which is the conversion I wanted, however I really like the look of your images.
I am ordering the E-PL1 from Cameta and having it shipped directly to Life Pixel for IR conversion, then...
Use a shipping forwarder. I use shipito.
Considering getting the EPL-1 from Cameta via Amazon, but they don't ship internationally via their Amazon page and don't offer the EPL-1 on their own website (it's only $149 from Amazon) so if I do get this, I will be using shipito.
Here are two other really good deals (new, not refurbished) from Cameta, via Amazon.
Olympus 12.3 Megapixel E-PL1 Pen Camera (Black camera body) $149.95
Olympus PEN E-PL1 Digital Camera W/M. ED 14-150mm Lens (Black) $499.95
I'm female, but I am 6'2". I have owned both the Billingham Hadley and ThinkTank Retrospective series bags and both have been fine (and I am fussy about how my bags sit as well due to my height). My sister is 6'5" and has worn my Billingham Hadley with no problems. Maybe also take a look at the...
I've got mine on back-order with BH Photo. Being I am in Australia, I had to pay the full amount up front (US customers are only charged when item shipped). Just hope I am waiting no longer than a few weeks.
