    Spot on sensor - Where?

I was thinking that, but this example was answered a bit differently. I could see the location as C if the camera were turned upside down looking into it. I think his spot should have been A. https://photo.stackexchange.com/questions/18292/where-is-this-dust-located-on-my-sensor Then this...

    Spot on sensor - Where?

E-M1X has a spot. Battery is dead in my sensor magnifier so I am trying to figure out where it is (Old eyes along with crummy magnifier!). It's going to take a wet clean as the blower and brush are not fixing it. It shows up around the 8 o'clock position. But question is, "Where is it...

Thanks for the PlastiDip idea. I bought another case for the E-M1X and sprayed that foam. Will do it to all four cases now. I did find that their Large #4800 case only clears striking the upright E-M1X body with the RRS L-plate attached by 1/4 inch with all foam removed. So I had to install...

I didn't know Brother made a "White-on-Black" labeling tape for my p-Touch label maker when I went for a refill. Thought it might look good on the outside of my cheap Harbor Freight roller case to tell me where the lenses were hiding. So I printed labels to stick on the outside as a map that...

Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III Released

Had to check at B&H Photo website and they have the 12-40m f/2.8 on sale for $849 (Normally $999.). The new 12-45mm f/4 is $649 but it's not in stock yet.

Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III Released

I seem to recall the "Starry Sky" focus thing being removed from some earlier body firmware update, and now it re-appears on the E-M1 III. Not much of a "new" feature if re-introduced. :rolleyes-38: I have the E-M1X and really never use the "toggle button" as the birds are long out of range...

Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III Released

True. They added the ability to fine tune the WB in both the E-M1 Mark I and E-M1X when one selects a Manual WB. I have my E-M1 Mark II Manual WB set to a +5 Amber and a -1 Green, and the E-M1X needed a +5 Amber and zero on Green to help the SOC JPEGs and for those of us who manually meter the...

Olympus OM-D E-M1 Mark III Released

There is an update for the E-M1 II today, but it is very minor and just a fix for the annoying LCD-to-EVF changeover. Same thing for the the E-M1X which seemed a very minor patch.

What is the best exposure for your Olympus? (ETTR and other techniques)

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the newer cellphones are using a lot more AI within them than what we are using with our non-AI cameras. Someone at Google, during the last Pixel cellphone introduction, moved the software ahead of the camera in importance in making the final shot.

Interesting. You are basically doing the same thing I am, but I find I can set a +2.7 EV reading in spot mode off a large white Styrofoam ball. The nice thing about the Styrofoam ball is it has specular highlights that show up easily as red blinkies in the Olympus. I also set the highlight...

You might be right about Olympus having "Dumb Clocks" that need to be set manually for any DST changes. Why they show UTC time zones and not incorporate some DST calendar as well is baffling. In the E-M1 Mark II manual (Page 19), and much the same for the Pen-F manual (Page 18l: "If the...
