that lens seems to have a lot of sample variation. i tried 3 that had various iq problems, the 4th one is fairly good and i use it quite often. it is susceptible to CA, but that is correctable in post.

Potential Fuji XT3 vs Olympus for low light Motorsports Opinions Please ?

Hi, Rob. You mentioned in this entry that you have always shot jpegs; I wonder if that is the cause of some of your dissatisfaction with your m4/3 motorsports shots. Even though Olympus jpegs generally receive praise, I have found that I can handle the digital noise issue far more effectively...

Hi, Everyone. I'm trying to determine which M4/3 lenses are most likely to exhibit chromatic aberration in high contrast edges. Please let me know. Thanks.

    Which Telephoto for Travel

Yes, but the 45-175 is a power zoom, which many stills photographers don't care for. Your points are well-taken, however. And it looks like used copies of the 45-175 are only a little more expensive than the used 45-200.

    Which Telephoto for Travel

Another lens to look at is the Panasonic 45-200 4.0-5.6, which is fairly light (370g) for its reach. It's my favorite long walk-around lens. The first version is available on the used market at very low prices. KEH currently has 3 of them for under $200. The newer version is weather-sealed and...

    Lightroom and Photoshop......

While I'm happy with the current photographer's bundle, I have purchased both Luminar and ON1 versions in the past. Neither of those other packages is ready for prime time as far as I am concerned. Luminar is slow and buggy as heck on a PC, and ON1 has problems with my video card as well as...

Is this something you don't want in the E-M1X?

I sure don't want anything that makes the camera larger than my EM1-ii and won't buy one if it has the integral, vertical grip. My main reason for switching to m4/3 was reduced size and weight. I'd be happy if the EM-5 iii has a good grip like the E-M1.

    On1 Photo RAW 2019

    On1 Photo RAW 2019

Although I am not a professional, I have to agree with Lindsay that the product is not ready for prime time. Even something as simple as exporting a jpg file often causes my ON1 to hang. Also, some frequently used tools, such as the healing brush, are very slow. There is also an annoying flicker...

The implication seems to be that both features will be available by the end of the year. However, unless/until Skylum changes their healing tool to work like Adobe's, Luminar will not become my regular pp tool. I want to see the results without having to hit an 'apply' button.

Lenses incompatible with Olympus Live Composite

It was working fine with my Pan Leica 12-60 and all I did was change lenses. All other settings remained the same. Pan Leica 100-400 not as sharp as I think it should be - any ideas

Thanks, Biro. I found that one yesterday, but if it's Panasonic's support portal, they need to hire someone to do it right. If you click on lenses and then support, it takes you to a shopping page. Not much good for what I need.

    Tele-zoom advice.

You don't say what your budget is, but if I were you, I'd go with a used E-M1 and either the 75-300 Oly or the 100-300 Panny. If you can swing the price of the Panny 100-300 ii, you'll pick up weather sealing. The Oly lens zoom ring goes the same direction as Canon and the Panasonic like Nikon...

Pan Leica 100-400 not as sharp as I think it should be - any ideas

I've tried everything suggested and that I can think of, but no improvement. It's difficult to compare such different lenses, but I think my old, general purpose walk-around lens, the Panny 14-140 is generally sharper than the 100-400. I'm going to contact some repair places to see if they have...

Pan Leica 100-400 not as sharp as I think it should be - any ideas

Thanks for all your replies and suggestions. The reason I included the 100-400 in this exercise is that I wasn't satisfied with my real world images from it. I included the 100-300 because it was a known quantity and the 12-60 because I like the quality I have been getting from it, even though I...

Pan Leica 100-400 not as sharp as I think it should be - any ideas

I don't normally do much pixel peeping, but I had all morning free with nothing much to do. Anyone try Luminar for Mac 2018?

Thanks for the info. I purchased Luminar because it was inexpensive ($49) and seems easy to use. But I really don't like the way they are handling the .lmnr files. I'll probably use it as an adjunct to LR, but it doesn't look like a good replacement.

Anyone try Luminar for Mac 2018?

Anyone try Luminar for Mac 2018?

I am trialing the Windows version, but it's definitely not ready for prime time at this point since it is still missing some key features. For those of you on a Mac, I have a question: is there any way to save your edits for future use without creating a .lmnr file that also contains a copy of...

    Luminar for Windows

I totally agree with your comments about the PC version looking like it was "rushed out". Several items on their "coming soon" list are must-haves for me, but I have seen nothing about what constitutes "coming soon". I'd rather have these missing features than the DAM, but I suspect Skylum sees...
