    Olympus 12-45/4 Pro lens details

The E-M5ii + 12-45 combo looks better and better to me. Olympus needs to gear their marketing around that kit. It is seriously impressive. The E-M5iii plus 12-45 is 668 grams, while the "old" E-M5ii plus 12-40 is 878 grams.

Did Olympus botch the roll-out of the E-M5 Mk III?

Funny. I see it as the opposite. The E-M1iii makes the E-M5iii that much better in comparison. With the E-M5 you get ~85% of the E-M1 in a package that is 40% lighter! That's impressive to me.

Northern Ireland, I think. There are so many small stone churches/chapels. It looks similar to the one in Portaferry. But it isn't that one.

Nd filters or software solution? Long exposure

You can get cheap ND filters. Even with software solutions like Live Composite and Live Composite based modes, you will need an ND filter for best results.

    A telephoto dilemma

You currently switch lenses. Are you okay with that? If so, I'd recommend the Panny 100-300. You can get a cheap one for ~$300. If you go from the 12-40 and 40-150R to the 12-200, you will gain in versatility, but you will lose in IQ and speed - especially in the 12-40 range. Those Nikon...

Is there an "influencer" who hasn't been "fuji-x100V-ified"?

Sigma could take their FP and weld the 45mm lens on it, give it some Sigma weirdness, and you have a worthy X100 competitor.

    Q About B&W Printing Services

I'm going to glom on to this thread. I looking to make some B&W prints as well. I will definitely check out MPix Pro, but was wondering if there are other options that people have used. I have had a few color prints made through Bay Photo, but I haven't been overly pleased with how they turned...

Is there an "influencer" who hasn't been "fuji-x100V-ified"?

Online reviewers are reviewing a new camera. Is that the problem? I'm confused.

Did Olympus botch the roll-out of the E-M5 Mk III?

I think the only issue with the launch was not having the 12-45PRO ready for a package deal. That would have been an outstanding pair that would have garnered attention. If it was available, I may have bitten the bullet at launch pricing. Instead I bought a used 12-40Pro.

I think @saladin made a very good argument for this lens in their thread: https://www.mu-43.com/threads/olympus-om-d-e-m5-mkiii-early-thoughts-one-week-road-trip.107219/ As mft users most of us want smaller, smaller smaller. So it would be nice if this had greater separation from the 2.8 zooms...

    Guess the Location!

I have never been to Harper's Ferry, but I do have a personal connection, of sorts. Harper's Ferry was the site of abolitionist John Brown's last attempt at supporting and/or causing a slave insurrection. I grew up only a few miles from John Brown's first bloody actions to abolition, the...

    Olympus 12-45/4 Pro lens details

As I stated up above, I am somewhat disappointed in its size. I was hoping for something slightly larger than the 14-42R. Not slightly smaller than the 12-40Pro. The fact that it is much lighter weight is good, though. I newly have a 12-40, so I probably would not have been in the market for...

Who is use high res mode?

I regularly switch between Hi Res shot and in camera focus stacking when shooting macros. I sometimes really like the High Res shot results. But I really don't use any medium where that much resolution is necessary.

    MFT to Z-Mount

You could only use manual focus, manual aperture lenses that way. I wonder if the Voightlanders would have a large enough image circle for FF. I bet they would for APSC, on the Z50. Ooo. I could mount my Kowa Prominar on a Z camera with it!

    Suggestions for a manual focus 24 ~ 25mm lens

There are the Mitakon and Voightlander ultra fast 25mm lenses at both ends of the price spectrum. They are both mft mount lenses. As for legacy glass, you won't find many 25mm lenses, but there are a good number of 24mm. If you go up to 28mm they list will get longer. Look at the regular...

Just speculating here: Since the lenses are actual physical objects, they have mass and weight. That seems like a very valid thing to include when talking about holding the lens. :p

Equivalence (hypothesis): Could future FF mirrorless F/8 and F/5.6 lenses (ever so slightly press upon) the m43 pro system?

What about with Nikon's Phase Fresnel glass? The Nikon Z50 with the 300mm PF lens is 1205 grams, the close to equivalent in focal length E-M1ii with PL 200 comes in at 1819 grams.

    Leicaness and The Leica Look

Yeah. They talk about how number of elements matter. Then end by saying it doesn’t with Leica SLR lenses. I think there is a Leica Look. Although it isn't exclusive to Leica lenses. I also think that it is nearly impossible to quantify it. This is mainly to do the fact that there is no...
