So a pro printer didn’t see a difference between a FF sensor and a m4/3 sensor. Not at that size. I wonder how many of the naysayers print at all, let alone print that size.
I guess we can now go back to trying to improve the real weak link.
Sorry to disappoint, I’m a sucker for accurate info. But if you don’t like my posts, I believe that you can put me on some kind of an ignore list. I very strongly recommend it.
Amin or any of the moderators have every right to ban me or tell me what to do on this site. You, on the other hand...
I know it is way off topic, but if you can see a big difference in detail, it isn’t due to the camera. It may be you not getting the best out of your gear. There are numerous examples about how much detail a camera like the EM1 can extract.
I was trying to make a point, and hoping to hear back from biker, but I don’t want you to keep wondering.
You ARE seeing my friend’s photo below mine.
After a few hours of trying to merge his photos and not succeeding, he got frustrated and deleted everything.
I also thought MP was number 1. Oh well. You are the insider.
In any case, I will give you a short story that I personally experienced, not a hypothetical one.
One of my photographer friend asked me to go to do night photography with him on August 11 2016. I had never done it, but I sure love...
Sorry, my reality is and always has been that other people use their own money and I could care less what they purchase. I’m not sure how you came to that conclusion.
And you were all over the place. Talking about pro shooting with D4s shooting hockey at iso 12800. No relevance to m4/3 dying or...
You are all over the place.
My prediction, with about 6 followers on YouTube is that Tony is incorrect. M4/3 is not going to die, not even in 5 years.
Please, look at what you wrote when you mentioned how you shoot now. That is most people. During the day, slow moving subjects etc...
Right. But those are the gear heads, they don’t represent the rest of the photography population. Those who have kit lenses and use AUTO to shoot. They don’t know what 2 stop difference means.
Ironically, I yet to see a gear head who is not a snapshot shooter. The louder they talk, the worst...
Do you think I live under a rock? Lol. You don’t think I have an idea about people? There are plenty of uneducated people (photographically speaking), purchasing those canon and Nikon kits at Costco and other places. In fact, I see way way more of those beginner kits around than higher tier...
But you were trying to make a point, which is fine, but let’s compare kit lenses with kit lenses.
Consumers, who are ok with the kit lens on a FF camera should be compared to consumers who are ok with the kit lens on an em1.
2 things that comes to mind.
1 - the average consumer rarely knows what raw means, let alone f stop.
2 - about that 300mm lens. Again, the average consumer, who walks into a store or searches amazon for a telephoto lens, who wants to shoot birds, checks out the Olympus 300mm f4, might look at...
I like Tony, but let’s be fair. The message is pretty far fetched. The real world is not what you see on these forums or on YouTube. The general population, where most of the money is coming from don’t pixel peep or fret over small stuff. In fact, most just shoot JPEGs. Do you really think, that...
I frequent another site that is predominantly dslr based. You wouldn’t believe how many of them are selling their heavy FF systems and switching to m4/3. Weight is a big issue, and m4/3 is the perfect size. Not to mention price.
Lets see what Tony is going to say when the new Olympus camera is out. He uses gh5 cameras for video, em1 mark2 for landscape, I wouldn’t worry too much. Most customers don’t watch gear head YouTube videos. I see a bright future for m4/3
No one claimed that Tony is special. You are making that assumption. I personally didn’t agree with anything in that video except that companies discontinued products or a whole line without announcing it first. And he sure didn’t predict Samsung going out of business with the nx system.
When the system is pretty complete, why would it not get less attention than a new system?
I realize, that a lot of people feed off of negativity, but isn’t there enough m4/3 gear to get the job done? What are you missing personally?
He asked, if Tony was smart or something. The answer is yes. But that doesn’t mean that he is a good photographer. But he is a good salesman as well. How many of you can afford a $13k lens? He is doing something right.
I good body of mine (27) sold his Nikon FF gear and bought a Fuji xt2 with a few lenses and couldn’t be happier. Personally I can carry what ever is out there, but I love my Olympus gear. Not every hipster is going after FF.
But like I said, to me it doesn’t matter what other people buy...
Declining system? Right! With all recently introduced f1.2 primes, the new Panasonic f1.7 zoom coming out soon, the new flagship Olympus camera etc... I think you are right. Lol.
Btw, which smaller Fuji/Sony cameras?
The tv is a terrible analogy. First of all, I said 2 years, not 16 years.
Btw, could you tell if any of these photos were taken yesterday or 4 years ago?
