That's some funky conglomerate rock, where is this? (Maple canyon near Salt Lake is my only guess) Edit, just clicked through the flickr and saw "Spain". Looks like a neat area.

I think that's "Owl Rock". I think the route they are on is the only one of note, a 5.8, if I remember correctly. From that parking spot there's access to my favorite "hike" in the park. There's a scramble that takes you up a few washes, needs a couple of short rappels, and ends up on top of...

Great shots Ronnie. I've been pretty absent from photography lately, too (I haven't even picked up my long lens for many months). Your post reminds me that I really need to get back out there. It looks like my Houston travel might be picking up again (sitting in Hobby airport right now...

I'll live. I was near the top of a short route at red rock canyon open space. I placed a cam in a crack below a flake of rock and gave it a little tug to check it, but it broke the rock apart. I decided it would be safer to downclimb to a good stance to reevaluate the top of the route, but...

Thanks! Maybe it will be motivated by the (low) quality of the rock in your neck of the woods that precipitated it 😊. What I get for venturing into vertically oriented playground sand.

How else would you shoot this frame in these conditions?

If you're open to general C&C.... I would crop this image to 2:1 to get rid of the majority of the ceiling (I don't think it adds to the image), just leaving a portion of the horizontal shadow at the bottom (so that the height is ~ the same as the vertical pillar shadows). Double check the...

How else would you shoot this frame in these conditions?

I don't use a lot of flash, but I would think that you would need to pay extra attention to the reflections off of the window in this scenario, or at least be mindful of your angles. To be honest, though, I don't think you need much shadow detail in the foreground, since the subject is the outside.

A pretty lame placeholder in case I don't manage to get into the city (I spend most of my days avoiding crowds and buildings). More of a street shot than an architectural one, but I couldn't resist both the woman and building shielding their glasses from the sun.

Looking for a very fast telephoto lens

I have the P 25/1.7. It's ok. I use it quite a lot because it's a convenient length, but for portraits I prefer my 42.5/1.7 by a pretty big margin (or even my 12-40Pro at the long end). I don't have any experience with the Oly lens, but it seems like a good option, as well. You seem pretty...
