Metabones Zeiss Contax G to m4/3 adapter
original condition, bought a few years ago ....... hardly used
Zeiss lens now sold
Does anyone use this "adapted" lens
I have never been able to get anything in focus - shots appear to be in focus in the EVR but turn out badly - OOF and soft
Looking thru the G1 EVR - at Infinity, (on the lens barrel), is a blur and just before infinity seems to be infinity, (i.e. in focus on...
I agree with you
but I'd do the test again as the M43 image does look poorer than expected
You can compare anything with anything and it's a valid comparison
I have read reports that the 14 42 is inferior to the previous 14 45 ........ but that's not the issue and your comparison is still...
At the longer end
from what I have seen, if you are into wildlife photography using M43 go for the Panasonic LUMIX G VARIO 100-300mm F4.0-5.6 - (I know that you may think that it is expensive), - go straight to the 100 300mm and don't mess around and waste your money (and time) with MF legacy...
I need a "birding lens" to stick on the end of my Nikon D300
If any of you guys have a Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6.3 AF APO DG OS or even a Bigma in good condition that you wish to sell I would be grateful if you would let me know.
Or if there is a 300mm or 400mm AF Nikon out there at a price...
To tell the meter on the Nikon F what the aperture on the lens is set at
the rabbit ears "couple" the lens to the meter
I usually take them off when using them with M43 cams or indeed with a Nikon DSLR as they can easily scratch anything that they touch
my three penny worth
to start with buy a good used G1, (unless you can still find a new one at a good price), there should be plenty around as guys have upgraded
plus a 20mm f1.7.
(the kit Panasonic 14 42 is also good and cheap)
The G1 has all you need (plus a swivel VF - as well as a LCD...
I must admit that I rarely have any success with the 45 200mm and do find it disappointing, (compared with the 70 300mm on my D300)
Here are a few that I took yesterday
It was not a good day for photography as it was very sunny and there was a haze in the mountain here in the Aude in Southern...
Surely the Manual Focus DSLR Nikkor 50mm f1.8 or a similar Canon is inexpensive in Romania
Chinese M43 to Nikon adaptors are quite cheap and with the Nikon very simple in design - the Canon FD mount to M43 is slightly more complicated and less "user friendly"
The 35mm f1.4 has a top rating by Rorstlett - he does not give 5/5 to many - he only comments on the AIS model but I would guess the NAI, (this one has been converted to AI), will be just as good
"Nice piece of glass"
getting onto Nikon SLR camera "porn"
here is one of my favourite combos, an F2 with 55mm f1.2 S Auto - (lens 1979)
Have used the lens on my G1, but wide open at 1.2 it is very difficult to focus as all this M43 stuff has no "focus confirm"
- works well on my D300 which has a "green light"...
been hanging around on the SC site most of the time
I had, (still have - somewhere), an F3, plus a few other Nikons - all were good from the heavy to the (lighter)
They all seemed really expensive at the time - I forget all the differences but, if my memory serves me correctly...
when I pick up my D300 with a Nikkor 55mm f1.2 I do get a feeling of exhilaration versus the G1, EP-1 etc.,
In fact last week when I did this after a couple of D300 "non use" months, I dropped it; the shock was just too much!!
Fortunately it landed on the UV filter - so only a small dint and...
Brian - - there are a few of us on the SC site who have been awaiting your return - great to see that you are back, (we have missed you), and I hope all is well and that your work was successful
Very best wishes
do a search on here; the FD/M43 mount has been discussed
It is quite a "fiddly" mount and you need to get "the lever" in the "right position" otherwise the aperture remains fully open
I bought a couple of mounts from Hong Kong - RJ Camera - they are well made, a good price and work fine - (as...
