My First Camera

My First Camera

Here is my first camera, which my dad gave to me when I was a teen. He picked it up in the late 1940s/early 1950s when he lived in Belgium after WWII. It had no rangefinder, so I had to guess the distance. It had no meter, so I had to guess the exposure using the guidelines that Kodak film used to enclose with film until I purchased a small Sekonic light meter. It was a great camera to learn photography with. Oh yes, the lens fits on my m4/3 cameras with an adapter.
What a beauty. Why the second viewfinder shoe?

Bet you're thinking hard about that Panny-Leica 25mm f1.4, given the above field of view ... Just pop the above viewfinder in and you're back to your old ways: guess the range, keep the aperture as tight as you dare, ISO 100, and guess your shutter speed. Heh!
I've never used the second shoe, but I imagine a flash or a second viewfinder would be the most likely use. I'm definitely buying the PL 25mm to compliment my arsenal of Leitz glass, but I expect I'll use the AF and exposure meter. It's so much easier that way )
Beautiful! Which model of Leica is that? Screw mount I take it?
