Just want to do a quick poll to see how many mu-43 users have pre-ordered, will pre-order, or will not pre-order the OM-D E-M5. I am not saying who will buy when it's out, but just want to know about pre-orders...

High probability that I will purchase, but think my preorder will happen closer to launch date. I do not think that this will be limited availability at release, probably similar to the way the E-P3 launched, and I am okay waiting a bit if it does get oversold.

With my similar thread last night and just having perused most of the main threads on this camera I count 25 pre-orders.

Pre ordered a black one with grip and 12-50. Gonna sell my EP3 or GH2 or both when the time comes to help fund it.

IF you're going to sell the EP3 you might want to do it now, while only the hard-core camera nuts even KNOW about the OMD. Once the OMD actually hits the streets, I suspect the EP3 will lose a lot of value pretty quickly, but at this point, it still holds quite a lot. Seems like they're selling in the $600-700 range depending on condition and whether there's a lens included. The GH2 has probably already lost a lot more of its value just by virtue of having been around for over a year and with the G3 and GX1 already having stolen at good bit of its thunder.

Just a thought. That's what I'd do anyway if I was in a similar situation - I'm not but have been a couple of times in the not too distant past. Unless, of course, you really need two bodies in the interim between now and when the OMD shows up, in which case the additional de-valuation is probably worth it to you.

I pre-ordered the E-M5 with 14-42mm kit last night from Amazon. I didn't want the extra bulk of the new 12-50mm. The price I think is right in line with what I was hoping for. Now I just have to wait and figure out a way to pay for it...

I placed a preorder yesterday for a silver body only. This will mark my full transition to m43 from my DSLR which I will now sell (5DII, 24-105 f4, 85 f1.8, 50 f1.8). Currently I'm using a E-PL1 with V-F2 as my m43 body which will remain.
