I know I'm milking this one a bit . I've not had much chance to play so far this year but I stumbled upon this poor old neglected Beetle a few days ago and just happened to have my EPM1 with me. This is the colour (color ) version, single exposure, edited in HDR Efex Pro 2. I've already posted the B&W version in the B&W thread but I think this works a little better.

Try Hugin as well as Luminance HDR.

Ok thanks. I thought hugin was only for panorama. .. will check that out!

Enblend / Enfuse are also free/open source and do HDR / tonemapping, noise filtering, and focus stacking, as well as panoramas.

Yeah i tried that last year. Thought it was tricky to handle... if hugin sucks maybe I should give it a run again. thanks anyway.

I think Hugin uses enblend in the background. I just installed Hugin and enblend was included. And does the tone mapping after the images are aligned.

Ì was doing a bit of canoeing in the Elora Gorge (Ontario, Canada) and came across this little guy who graciously posed for me. Snapping Turtles are normally quite furtive ... not this one
