It's more or less spring. Frozen waterfalls & streams are starting to run. Relatively dry Spring. Real below average snowfall with multiple winter meltdowns will result in low flow volumes this season. Not a great spring for the kayaking.

GF-1 + 14-45mm. f22 @1/5

Nice images of waterfalls. We don't have any real spectacular falls locally. Rivers tend flow slow and easy until widening into large flood plains prior to entering L. Superior. East, west and inland within an hour or two drive are where one can find some major waterfalls and whitewater streams.

The last photo specific trip a couple decades ago was along sections of what today is the Superior Hiking Trail along the Northshore of Lake Superior. Points, rivers and waterfalls were the specific subjects. Bit of waterfalls OD on that adventure. Luckily ran out of food & fuel. ~7kg of the load was 35mm gear. 2x36 shot rolls each of Kodachrome & Ektachrome. No random maybe images. With mu43 gear a much lighter compact kit. Less selective eye for "the image".

Noel,

These were taken at my trip up to the smoky mountains in North Carolina Last year.

I live in North Alabama, and there are tons of waterfalls jut in short hour or two driving distances, from Bank head forrest in Central west Alabama to middle Tennessee.

Some are largish and some are quite small and discrete. Some of the more photogenic waterfalls are the smalls that are harder to get to or know few people know about.

One of the reasons I chose mFT gear is because I wanted better image quality without all the bulk. I do day hikes, but sometimes it can be 5 or 6 miles of rugged terrain in a day. Lighter, the better.

This is one of my favorites from last year:

I took a few shots of waterfalls while I was in Alaska.

Great work everybody.
hmm, you'd think living in Niagara Falls I'd have some good pics of the Falls but I don't think I do. I'll have to make a point to get out this week if it stops raining to see if I can contribute. Might have something in my winter posts I can add as well

I shared this before I believe, but I do not have many waterfalls yet with my m4/3 outfit.

OK, so it is only about a foot or so high - it is still falling water

I also tweaked it some with HDR to bring out the shadow detail detail and moss.

Forgot to add this is last fall in the Shenandoah National Park. There had been a drought and the water was low so most of the falls had little water but I found a few interesting small water flows.

I have a few shots of Minnehaha Falls in Minneapolis, MN. This first is an HDR I did last fall, and the black and whites I took yesterday.

Here's an HDR I did of Cascade Falls on the North Shore of Lake Superior in northern MN.

And here's the non HDR version. I really like the rock detail in the HDR version. I'm not a big user of HDR, but it's fun sometimes, and I think it really helped here.
