    Weekend in Prague

I see what you mean with the 12mm -but by travelling light, i mean not only weight, space is also of the essence, so 2 lenses is max! And since I like the 25 in the streets, I'm guessing it'll be 12 and 25 instead! I like your photos, btw. -the ones with all the skulls, where are they from? I'd...

    Weekend in Prague

I'm going to Prague with my girlfriend and without the kids this weekend. Any tips for sights to see/things to shoot? I'm thinking that I'll bring my E-P2 with 25/1.4 and 45/1.8 -and a couple of batteries and an extra SD card. I've got the 7.5 Samyang, 12/2 Oly and 15/8 Oly as well, but we're...

Which camera for video and timelapse/stopmotion?

Thanks for all the input. Size doesn't really matter, as it will primarily be mounted for stopmotion stuff. Stopmotion has previously been done with iPhones and iPads, which might be fine, but since I'm gonna need something to shoot stills with as well, I thought I should figure out which m43...

Which camera for video and timelapse/stopmotion?

Hi, I've been shooting stills with my e-p2 for the last couple of years, and not really delved into the video part of the camera. Now I got a new job, partly because of my photo hobby, where some of the things I'm going to work with is stop-motion, time-lapse and regular video. The question is...

Showcase Olympus 15mm f/8 Bodycap Lens

Here's my Flckr set with 15mm shots. Most are LR4 processed with a variety of Street Shooter presets.. I really like this lens, both for the compactness and the results I get with it! http://www.flickr.com/photos/thejakob/sets/72157632958414755/

    Second camera body?

This all sounds great, so I think I'll buy that E-PL1, if it's in good shape! Thanks for the replies :v) /Jakob

    Second camera body?

Shouldn't it be possible to trigger a remote flash via the built in flash on the cheaper bodies?

    Second camera body?

I've currently got the E-P2, and a nice set of lenses (samyang 7.5, Oly12&45, pana25) -But the E-P2 don't do off camera flash, so I've been looking for a cheap second-hand deal on one of the PLs. Now I have the chance to buy the E-PL1, body only, for something like £92/$144 -but is that a good...

    Lens dilemma/what to bring

My girlfriend's mom's got a cottage near the sea -we'll be staying there for one week. Plenty of landscape/wildlife possibilities there. The second week we'll be camping, also pretty far off the beaten track, with beach/seascapes as well as forest and cornfields. Should be plenty of wildlife...

    Lens dilemma/what to bring

Initially, the plan with the 3 lens setup was just as much to keep it simple as to save space -to avoid switching all the time and just concentrate on my family and shoot with what I had. However -I was a little uncomfortable leaving the fisheye behind, so now I've stacked a bit, and will...

    Lens dilemma/what to bring

I'm going on a 2 week trip with my family -gf and 2 boys age 2 and 4, relaxation, touring the countryside, going to the beach etc. I'm trying to pack light, so I'm thinking 3 lenses will have to be enough (+extra SD cards, various filters/step rings/batteries/etc.) I've packed the 12/2, 25/1.4...

Metz mecablitz 48 AF-1 and E-P2 -wireless handheld flash?

Hi, Is it possible to use the Metz Mecablitz 48 AF-1 as a wireless handheld flashunit with my E-P2? If not, what would it take? I've already got the Oly fl-36, but it doesn't do off-camera without a cable, as far as I can tell, and I'd like to avoid that! (the cable, that is) Thanks, Jakob

Need advice for a photoshoot (completely unexperienced)

Thanks -I think I will too :) I always shoot raw -but I still have difficulties fixing ISO noise when ISO is above 1000 and lightning is poor. And I use Lightroom 3 at the moment -will upgrade to 4 when I get some money in may! And I always stop down a bit, rather than shoot wide open.

Need advice for a photoshoot (completely unexperienced)

My only backup is an old OM10 with a 50/1.4 and 85/2 Zuikos -not really a backup plan, since my experience with film SLR's are next to none, and I only bought it to adapt the lenses to my Pen ;)

Need advice for a photoshoot (completely unexperienced)

I'd love to borrow a 12/2, but unfortunately I don't know a lot of m43 shooters in CPH -and I don't think I can raise the money to buy it before the event. And no, of course I wouldn't buy it just for that -I'd love to swap my 17 with the 12, but it'll be a while before I can afford that ;)...

Need advice for a photoshoot (completely unexperienced)

Point taken, but I do think you're a bit mistaken here -I'm not flattered that they ask me, I just see it as a good opportunity to try these things out. You've been doing this for 4 decades, of course you wouldn't do it for free. I'm a bike mechanic and the only bikes I fix for free, is my own...

Need advice for a photoshoot (completely unexperienced)

The 45/1.8 is of course not as fast as the 25/1.4 -but my only other option is a 50/1.4 manual OM lens, and I'd like to have the AF. Oh, and the 45/1.8 is the longest AF lens I have!

Need advice for a photoshoot (completely unexperienced)

There's a lot of good advice here, sorry for not getting back to you earlier, but it's been a busy weekend :) @snkenai -I'd be more comfortable withoout the tri/mono pod, so thanks for pointing that out! And sticking with the AF lenses seems like a smart move as well. I like natural...

Need advice for a photoshoot (completely unexperienced)

I've been asked to shoot at a friend's oldest son's confirmation (is that the correct english term for the christian ritual where you confirm your christening?) Apparently I'm the only one around with a decent camera -only problem is that I have no experience whatsoever with these kinds of...

Which LOWEPRO bag for my u4/3's

I just bought the Adventura 140 for my E-P2 w. Samyang 7.5, Oly 17, PL25 and Oly45. Perfect fit for my kit. Plus, I got the bag for half the normal price in my local shop ;v) I tried the 120, but found it too small! If I need more space, for tripod and flash etc., I've got a LowePro backpack..

Update on Panasonic Leica DG Summilux Clicking Noise on Olympus Pen Bodies

Got the PL25 a couple of weeks ago, despite the horror stories with the rattlesnake noises -it hasn't left my E-P2 since! I love this lens, and I have no rattle issues whatsoever! Slight aperture clicks, when I go from light to dark and vice versa, but my 45/1.8 and 17/2.8 does the same, so not...

    E-P2 or E-PL1

Just curious, but why recommend e-pl1 over e-p2 for shooting manual lenses? I've been shooting with OM glass on my E-P2 for a year before I started buying native lenses, and never had any trouble? Is there anything about the e-pl1 that makes it better with manual glass?

E-PL1 camera settings for manual focus ?

Ned, this is hands down THE most useful piece of info I've yet come across regarding the Pen cameras. I've never heard about this before, and I've always wondered what the AEL/AFL button was for. Just set this up on my E-P2, and it's a breeze shooting like this. Really really nice! Thank you...

An other try with PL25 1.4

Sorry if I hijack your thread, Bhupinder, but I'm curious to know what kind of ND filter to buy. I'm planning on getting the 25 and got the 45 already, so filter + step-up ring would be my solution too -but what kind of filter do I need, to shoot wide open in dayligth? And perhaps do the dreamy...

    What to buy?

Just a quick follow-up -I found a guy selling a 17mm and a 14-42mm, and asked for a bundled price -got both lenses for EUR200, which must pass as a fair deal! Both lenses are sold with metal hoods... Now I just need to get my hands on the 25mm ;v) Regarding that one -on Panasonics website, I...

    What to buy?

I've been shooting with legacy 50ish lenses for almost a year, so anything wider than that will be a huge improvement to my kit ;v) (except the Samyang, which I find weird for portraits and general indoor shooting) But you're right, 25 can also be a bit long for indoors, I found out at...

    What to buy?

I can actually get a 17mm for less than a 14mm (both used) so at the moment I'm leaning towards the 17mm. And since I've had one before, I know what to expect from it ;v) -the 12mm will probably drop into my bag when I've saved enough for the E-M5 -and then I've got a second body as well. All...

    What to buy?

I was waiting for this one to pop up ;v) But my only problem is what lens to buy, not that I buy too much... It isn't! Really! Believe me, I'm totally in control of my lens buying habits, so you can't really call it a problem, let alone an addiction! I'm. Not. An. Addict!!! (or maybe I am, just...

    What to buy?

Oh, and I feel like the 20 and 25 can do pretty much the same when it comes to indoor and lowlight and cityscapes and people on the street, but I might be wrong. As I see it, the main major difference is the form factor, but others might think differently?
  35. J

    What to buy?

I appreciate the input but feel a need to clarify: I'm getting the 25mm, as soon as I get the insurance money for my stolen bike, so I feel the 20 would be a silly choice for pancake. I skipped the 17mm first time around, simply because I forgot it was there, but pancake wise it seems to be...
  36. J

    What to buy?

Yeah, there's the 17 as well, of course, I got that with the camera, but sold it again for being not bright enough for indoor and lowlight shots. Might consider that -the used ones crop up fairly often anyways. Only problem with that option, is that I'll have to wait for the wider option the...

    What to buy?

Yeah yeah, I know, this crops up every other day, but since everyone's mileage may (and do) vary, I have to ask it again.. I've got an E-P2, and the Samyang 7.5 fisheye, Oly 45/1.8 and a couple of adapted OM lenses (50/1.4, 50/3.5 macro, 85/2 and 35-200 macro) I'd really like something...

    E-P2 remote?

Well, I just did a search on amazon.co.uk for pen e-P2 Remote -among otters, this came up: Check this out on AMZN: PowerPlanet compatible Olympus RM-UC1 remote cord for OLYMPUS PEN E-P1, E-P2, E-P3 / E-PL2, E-PL3 /... http://amazon.co.uk/dp/B004KYLOB6

    E-P2 remote?

I'll take a look at it, thanks -but you're right, it's a bit more than I'm willing to spend. Cash is sparse, and I really need a tripod as well, and I'll rather spend what cash I have on a decent tripod and then start out with a cheap remote -just wanted to be sure that the very cheap e-bay ones...

    E-P2 remote?

I recently bought the 7.5mm Samyang fisheye for my E-P2, and am already seeing the world in a slightly distorted way. There's so many things that would be great to shoot with a fisheye -but most of them (to me, that is) is night time shots of the city, and for this, some sort of remote would be...

    Considering options...native vs adapted

Care to explain that? I recently bought the 45mm, but keep going back to my adapted OM and Fujinon lenses, since the AF is a bugger to get right. I'm sure there must be a way of setting it up right, but right now it's just annoying. So if you got any advice, I'd be happy to hear it :v) And...

    Adapted macro options?

Aah.. Makes sense :v) I've been using IS since I started shooting with adapted lenses, but when using a manual zoom, I can't change the focal lenght everytime I adjust the zoom, so for my 35-200, I leave it at 150mm and hope for the best ;v) Oh, and an update on the macro lens question: Just...
  47. J

    Adapted macro options?

I think I'll stick with the cheapskate option for now, and get the OM 50/3.5 macro, since I've already got the adapter. Then later on, I can always shell out for the Panasonic, if I get hooked ;v) But thanks for the tips!
  48. J

    Adapted macro options?

I thought that anti-shock WAS the stabilization and that setting the focal lenght didn't do anything without the anti-shock on... Apparently I'm wrong?
  49. J

    Adapted macro options?

Yeah, I know that much, but I was under the impression that you'd have to turn on the stabilization as well, and that the focal lenght was just to tell the camera what to stabilize, when stabilization is turned on? I mean, after all, there are options to shoot single shot, sequence, and 12s or...
  50. J

    Adapted macro options?

My camera's currently set to 1s when using the stabilization function -but I haven't really used it much, so I have no idea what would be ideal. Is 1s too much? Too little? I can see a problem with using a long period, since, if shooting handheld, I'll have plenty of time to sway back and forth...
