These lenses don't come cheap, but you get something in return. IQ-wise it's a brilliant design: at f/2.8 it's already fully useable with very good center sharpness and acceptable corners. At f/4 it's great in the center and good in the corners, and corners still improve at f/5.6. Also contrast is high. None of my Nikkor, Minolta and Panasonic lenses attain this kind of performance, although it isn't perfect: I'd like better sharpness in the extreme corners. Sparkling images are the result. CA is quite low, but CA correction in ACR still pays off to squeeze out the last bit of corner sharpness. Flare sensitivity is generally quite low, although I didn't test this extensively. Distortion is minimal, didn't feel the need to correct for it so far.
Definitely annoying is the very different color signature compared to other lenses. I saw it described somewhere as "icy cool". When using this lens I have to remember to take a grey card shot with it. Nikon, Minolta and Panasonic lenses are close enough to get by with one shot for all of them. Also the high contrast can lead to inky black shadows, postprocessing isn't always easy and frankly I prefer the tonal scale and saturation of the lower-contrast Minolta lenses.
The build quality is beyond reproach. Silky-smooth operation of focus and aperture rings and play-free movements. It's fairly long, almost as long as a 135mm lens, but due to its moderate weight it handles very well on the GH2.
If sharpness is what you're after, then this is a lens to seriously consider if you're prepared to pay the premium.
